Materials Required—
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DE LUXE" MERCERIZED CROCHET AND KNITTING COTTON
36 400-yd. Balls Ecru.
14 250-yd. Balls Yellow or any Color desired for spread measuring about 70 x 110 inches without fringe.
1 Pair Knitting needles No. 1 Bone or No. 12 Steel.

WIDE STRIPE. With Ecru, cast on 58 sts and K across row.

2nd Row—Slip 1, K 1, thread over, K 4, K 2 together twice, K 4, thread over, K 1, thread over, K 4, K 2 together twice, K 4, thread over, K 4, thread over, K 4, K 2 together twice, K 4, thread over, K 1, thread over, K 4, K 2 together twice, K 4, thread over, K 2.

3rd Row—Slip 1, Purl across row.

4th Row—Slip 1, K across row.

Repeat from the 2nd row for length required, bind off and work 11 more stripes.

NARROW STRIPE. With Color, cast on 29 sts and K across row.

2nd Row—Slip 1, K 1, thread over, K 4, K 2 together twice, K 4, thread over, K 1, thread over, K 4, K 2 together twice, K 4, thread over, K 2.

3rd Row—Slip 1, Purl across row.

4th Row—Slip 1, K across row.

Repeat from the 2nd row for length required, bind off and work 10 more stripes.

Sew stripes together as illustrated.

Crochet a row of 2 ch meshes around 3 sides of spread.

FRINGE. Over a 7½ inch cardboard wind thread 12 times, cut one end, loop through mesh, draw both ends through loop and tighten. Work a fringe in every other loop.
