Two-Needle Socks

A fantastic collection of socks to knit using two-needles. Includes socks for everyone in the family from mom to dad to kids.

Sock pattern types include argyles, striped and ribbed and stitched. Find your favorite pattern and make it all the colors of the rainbow. Or use a variegated yarn to have a cool effect in your socks pattern.


Weaving:

Purl back over half of the sts. Break off yarn leaving about 18 in. for weaving. Thread a darning Needle with end of yarn and work as follows: * Insert darning Needle into first st on back Needle as if to purl, lift it off the Needle; insert darning Needle into next st on back Needle as if to knit and leave it on the Needle; insert darning Needle into first st on front Needle as if to knit and lift it off the Needle; insert darning Needle into next st on front Needle as if to purl and leave it on the Needle; repeat from * until all sts are woven.

Note: MOSS STITCH is made by working in pattern of K1, P 1, always working a K st over a P and a P over a K.

Work as given for No. 5709A until ribbing has been completed, then work in pattern as follows:

Row 1—Knit 1 CC—34 MC—1 CC—34 MC—1 CC.

For size 2 to 4 yrs, cast on 48 sts (5 to 7 yrs 54 sts . . . 8 to 10 yrs. 60 sts). Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 2 in. (5 to 7 yrs 2 1/4 in. . . . 8 to 10 yrs. 2 1/2 in.) Work even in stockinette st from 2 1/4 in. (5 to 7 yrs 2 1/2 in . . . 8 to 10 yrs 3 in.)

Men's Argyle Socks

NOTE: Colors will be referred to as follows: Garner—G; Natural—N; Robin Blue—R, always be sure to twist yarns once when changing colors, to avoid making a hole. Before starting pattern, wind G into 2 balls, N into 2 balls, R into 1 ball and break off 2 strands each of R and N (about 2 yds. each).

Striped Socks

Work as given for No. 5701, Classic Socks in striped pattern as follows* 4 rows Natural; 2 rows Garnet; repeat from * ending with 4 rows Natural at heel. Change to Garnet and work entire heel, including the turn. Continuing with Garnet, pick up the sts on side of first half of heel; work across to the 2nd half of heel and complete the 2nd half of heel in Garnet including the turn. Pick up the sts on side of 2nd half of heel in Garnet, then purl across all sts. Change to Natural and continue in striped pattern to toe.
