With Flame cast on 88 sts and P 2, K 2 for 5 rows.
6th Row: P 2, drop Flame, attach White and K across row to within last 2 sts (all sts not worked keep on needle), turn.
7th Row: * K 2, P 2, repeat from * across row to within last 6 sts, turn, drop White.
8th Row: With Flame (when changing colors always pick up new color from underneath color which is dropped), K across row to within last 6 sts, turn. (More)
2nd Row: K 2, * Y O, sl 1, K 1, repeat from * across row ending last repeat with K 3. Always slip st as if to purl holding yarn in back of work.
3rd Row: K 2, * Y O, sl 1, K the Y O and next st tog, repeat from * across row to within last 2 sts, K 2. Repeat the last row until work measures 58 inches, bind off.

HAIRPIN LACE: Make a loop at end of yarn, insert 1 prong of hairpin staple in loop, wind yarn around right prong of hairpin staple, yarn over hook and draw through loop keeping loop at center of staple, drop loop from hook, turn staple ½ turn to the left, pick up the dropped loop at center and insert hook through top part of loop on left hand prong, pull loop through (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops completing a single crochet, repeat from * until there are 64 loops on each side of staple, cut yarn.
