Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" WORSTED FLOSS, Article W 16.

4-1 oz. Balls Blue or any Color desired.
1 pair Bone Knitting Needles No. 3.
6 Buttons.

Gauge: 7 sts = 1 inch; 10 rows = 1 inch.

BACK: Cast on 72 sts and K 10 rows.
Next Row. P across row, then work in stockinette st of K 1 row, P 1 row until back measures 8 inches from beginning.
Next 2 Rows. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of each row.
Next 2 Rows. Bind off 1 st at beginning of each row, then work even until armhole measures 3 inches from 1st decreasing point ending on the right side. K 7 rows even, bind off.

RIGHT FRONT: Cast on 40 sts and K 4 rows.
Next Row. K 2, bind off next 2 sts for buttonhole, K across remainder of row.
Next Row. K across row casting on 2 sts over the 2 bound off sts. K 5 rows even.
Next Row. P 35, K 5. Always keep the 5 sts at front edge K sts for border.
Next Row. K across row. Repeat the last 2 rows twice.
Next Row. P 7, K 22, P 6, K 5.
Next Row. K across row.
Next Row. ** P 7, * K 2, P 2, repeat from * 4 times, K 2, P 6, K 5.
Next Row. K across row. Repeat from ** 7 times but working a buttonhole at front edge every 1⅝ inches.
Next Row. * P 7, K 2, P 2, K 2, P 10, K 2, P 2, K 2, P 6, K 5.
Next Row. K across row. Repeat from * once.
Next Row. * P 7, K 2, P 18, K 2, P 6, K 5.
Next Row. K across row. Repeat from * once.
Work even in stockinette st always knitting the 5 sts at front edge for border and working a buttonhole every 1⅝  inches until work measures 8 inches from beginning.
Next Row. Bind off 2 sts at armhole edge and work 1 row even.
Next Row. Bind off 1 st at armhole edge and work even until armhole measures 2¾ inches from 1st decreasing point ending on the wrong side.
Next Row. Bind off 12 sts loosely for front of neck, and work 1 row even.
Next Row. * Decrease 1 st at neck edge, and work 1 row even. Repeat from * once.
Next Row. Decrease 1 st at neck edge, then K 7 rows even, bind off.

LEFT FRONT: Cast on 40 sts and K 10 rows.
Next Row. K 5, P across remainder of row. Work to correspond with right front omitting the buttonholes at front edge.
Press under a damp cloth.
Sew shoulder seams leaving 22 sts free at back of neck.

SLEEVES: With right side of work toward you, pick up 56 sts around armhole and work even in stockinette st for 2 inches.
Next Row. Decrease 1 st each side, then decrease 1 st each side every inch 5 more times (44 sts left). Work even until sleeve measures 8 inches, then work in ribbing of K2, P 2 for 2½ inches. Work other sleeve to correspond.

COLLAR: With wrong side of work toward you and leaving the front border free, pick up 67 sts around neck.
Next Row. K 3, * P 5, K 2, repeat from * 7 times, P 5, K 3.
Next Row. K across row. Repeat the last 2 rows 8 times, then K 3 rows even, bind off. Sew sleeve and side seams. Sew buttons in position.
