Knitting Patterns

Plain Socks, No. 300

Starting at the cuff: Cast on 40 sts and work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 1 ½ inches. On the last row decrease to 36 sts. Now work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 3 ½ inches in all.

HEEL: Knit 10 sts, leave on the needle; place the next 16 sts for instep onto a st holder; the remaining 10 sts onto a 2nd st holder. (More)


Men's Socks, No. 301

Starting at the cuff: Cast on 68 sts and work in ribbing of k 1. p 1. for 4 inches. Now work in stockinette stitch, (k 1 row, p 1 row) until the piece measures 11 ½ inches in all, ending with a purl row.

HEEL: Knit 17 sts; leave on the needle; place the next 34 sts (instep) onto a stitch holder and the last 17 sts onto a 2nd st holder. (More)


Children's Striped Socks, No. 302

Starting at the cuff, with the main color, cast on (48 sts-size 5 ½) (52 sts-size 6 ½) (56 sts-size 7 ½). Work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 1 ¾ inches. On the last row decrease to (40 sts) (44 sts) (48 sts).

Starting at the cuff, cast on 60 sts and work in the following pattern:

1st row: K 2, * p 2, k 4, repeat from * across row, ending with p 2, k 2. 2nd row: P 2, * k 2, p 4, repeat from * across row, ending with k 2, p 2. Repeat these 2 rows for 5 inches.

Starting at the cuff, cast on (60 sts-size 8 ½ to 9) (64 sts -size 9 ½ to 10) (68 sts-size 10 ½ to 11). Work in ribbing of k 2, p 2, for 2 inches, all sizes. Knit across, decreasing to (56 sts) (60 sts) (64sts). Now work even in stockinette stitch until the sock measures 4 inches in all.

Starting at the cuff, cast on 40 sts and work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 1 ¼ inches. Now work in the following pattern:

Mens' Heavy Socks, No. 308

Starting at the cuff, using the #3 needles cast on 54 sts for all sizes. Work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 3 ½ inches. Change to the #5 needles and knit across, decreasing to: (44 sts-small size) (46 sts-medium size) (48 sts-large size). Now work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 7 inches in all. 1st dec: K 1, k 2 tog, knit to within 3 sts of end of row, k 2, tog, k 1. Starting at the cuff for all sizes cast on 68 sts and work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 4 inches. Then work in the following pattern:

1st row: K 12, p 2, k 6, p 2, k 24, p 2, k 6, p 2, k 12.

2nd row: P 12, k 2, p 6, k 2, p 24, k 2, p 6, k 2, p 12.

With the #6 needles and using the blue yarn, cast on 48 (52) sts, purl 1 row. Tie in white yarn and work in the following pattern:

1st row: K 2 white, k 2 blue, repeat across, end with k 2 blue.

2nd row: P 2 blue, p 2 white, repeat across, end with p 2 white.
