Knitting Patterns

Knitted Dusting Mitt

With National Blue and No. 4 needles cast on 36 sts and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 2 ¼ inches. Change to No. 6 needles and K across row increasing 4 sts evenly spaced.

Apple Cord Holder

With Scarlet cast on 32 sts and work in garter st (K each row) for 74 rows, bind off. Sew 2 short ends together, gather one end tightly for top of apple, insert ball of cord and draw elastic or yarn through opposite end and fasten, leaving an opening for end of cord.

LEAF: Starting at lower edge with Green ch 4, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each of the next 2 sts of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows. (More)

Weskit

GAUGE: 7 sts-1 inch.

Entire weskit is worked in garter st (K each row).

LARGE DIAMOND: With Scarlet cast on 1 st, K and increase 1 st at the beginning of each row until there are 34 sts on needle. K 2 rows even. Then decrease 1 st at the beginning of each row until 1 st remains, bind off. In same manner work 2 more diamonds in Scarlet, 1 in Lt. Gray or Gray, 2 in Canary or Buttercup and 1 in National Blue or Med. Blue. (More)

Dog Blanket

PATTERN: 1st Row. * K 3, P 1, repeat from * across row.

2nd Row. K 2, * P 1, K 3, repeat from * across row, ending row with P 1, K 1. Repeat last 2 rows for pattern. With Green cast on 52 sts and work in pattern increasing 1 st on each side every row until there are 92 sts on needle. Work even in pattern until work measures 14 inches from the beginning. (More)

Starting at upper section of sachet bag, with Green ch 10, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each of the next 3 sts of ch, 1 s c, ch 3, 1 s c in next st of ch (center), 1 s c in each of the 4 remaining sts of ch, ch 5 to turn all rows.

2nd Row. 2 s c in 1st s c (increase), 1 s c in each of the next 4 s c, 1 s c, ch 3, 1 s c in center loop, 1 s c in each of the next 4 s c, 2 s c in last s c.

Crocheted Dusting Mitt

PALM SECTION: Ch 47, s d c in 3rd st from hook (sdc: yarn over hook, insert in st, pull through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time), 1 s d c in each of the next 32 sts of ch, 1 s c in each of the next 12 sts of ch, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row. 1 s c in each of the 1st 12 s c picking up back loop of sts only (cuff), 1 double loop st in each remaining st working through both loops of sts (double loop st: wind yarn over index finger twice, insert hook in st, draw yarn through pulling yarn from under finger, drop loops from finger letting loops fall to right side of work and complete s c), ch 1, turn. Mammy Doll

BODY: Over a 4 ½ inch cardboard wind Black 50 times and tie at one end (top of head). Remove from cardboard and tie again about 2 inches down for neck.

ARMS: Wind Black over a 4 inch cardboard 15 times, remove from cardboard and tie each end about ¼ inch in for hands.

Place through body and tie again under the arms for waist. Using a double strand of White work eyes as illustrated. Using a double strand of Red work mouth as illustrated. (More)

Pappy Doll

Work body, eyes, arms and mouth same as mammy.

PANTS: With Red ch 15, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each of the next 13 sts of ch, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row. Working through back loop of sts for remainder of pants, work 1 s c in each of the next 11 s c, ch 1, turn. (More)
