Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED or "DAWN" NYLON OF KNITTING WORSTED SIZE
1 oz. each White and Flame or colors of your choice.
1 pr. knitting needles No. 4.
With Flame cast on 88 sts and P 2, K 2 for 5 rows.
6th Row: P 2, drop Flame, attach White and K across row to within last 2 sts (all sts not worked keep on needle), turn.
7th Row: * K 2, P 2, repeat from * across row to within last 6 sts, turn, drop White.
8th Row: With Flame (when changing colors always pick up new color from underneath color which is dropped), K across row to within last 6 sts, turn.
9th Row: * K 2, P 2, repeat from * across row to within last 10 sts, turn, drop Flame.
10th Row: With White K across row to within last 10 sts, turn.
11th Row: * K 2, P 2, repeat from * across row to within last 14 sts, turn, drop White.
12th to 19th Rows: Work same as 8th to 11th rows, alternating the colors and working 4 sts less at end of every other row (32 sts worked in last row), turn, drop White.
20th Row: With Flame K across next 28 sts, turn.
21st Row: K 2, P 2 across 28 sts, turn, drop Flame.
22nd and 23rd Rows: With White work same as 20th and 21st rows, drop White.
24th and 25th Rows: With Flame work same as 20th and 21st rows, drop Flame.
26th Row: With White K across next 32 sts, turn.
27th Row: K 2, P 2 over 36 sts, drop White, pick up Flame, K 2, P 2, turn.
28th Row: K across next 44 sts, turn.
29th Row: K 2, P 2 across next 44 sts, drop Flame, pick up White, K 2, P 2, turn.
30th to 37th Rows: Continue working in same manner alternating colors and working across 4 sts more at the end of every row (80 sts worked in last row), turn.
38th Row: With White K across next 84 sts, turn.
39th Row: * K 2, P 2, repeat from * across next 84 sts, drop White, pick up Flame, K 2, turn, cut White.
40th Row: P 2, K across remaining 86 sts.
Next 5 Rows: Work even in ribbing of P 2, K 2. Bind off in ribbing.
Fold short edges in half and sew together on wrong side.
POMPONS: Wind Flame over a 2 inch cardboard 30 times, cut Flame, over the Flame wind White 50 times, tie through center, cut both ends and trim into shape.
TIE: Using 2-30 inch lengths of Flame, twist tightly and fold through center letting it twist itself, finish one end with a pompon. Sew other end to side of jibber. Make another tie and pompon in same manner and sew to opposite side.
