This smart sport scarf gives an attractive variety to the use of the plain knitting and purling. It may be worked out in your own color scheme to suit your costume.

Materials: J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 4 balls of color 9 Yellow and 1 ball of color 206 Sport Green. 1 pair Milward's knitting needles, No. 3 (3 milli­meter).

Use thread double throughout. With Navy Blue, cast on 66 sts. 1st row: * K 6, p 6 and repeat from * ending with k 6. 2nd row: * P 6, k 6 and repeat from * ending with p 6. 3rd to 8th rows incl: Repeat 1st and 2nd rows alternately. Break thread and attach Beige. 9th row: Same as 2nd row 10th to 16th rows incl: Repeat 1st and 2nd rows alternately. Break thread and attach Navy Blue. 17th to 24th rows incl: Same as 1st to 8th rows. Break thread and attach Beige. 25th row: K 6, * thread over, k 2 together, k 5 and repeat from * across. 26th row: K plain. Repeat these 2 rows until scarf is desired length. Finish off other end with 24 rows same as 1st 24 rows.
