SCALE: 6½ sts to 1 in.

Jack Frost Sport Yarn—6 2-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 2 Needles cast on 95 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 5 Needles increasing to 109 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1 (right side)—Purl.
Row 2—* K 2 tog., K 3, increase 1 st in next st (K 1 st in back of next st in row below, then K the next st), K 3; repeat from * across row ending K 4.
Row 3—Purl.
Row 4—K 4, * increase 1 st in next st as given in row 2, K 3, K 2 tog., K 3; repeat from * across row ending with increase 1 st in next st, K 3, K 2 tog. Repeat above 4 rows until piece measures 12 in. from lower edge. Bind off 9 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 9 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 2 Needles and work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work same as back until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Work over 32 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 27 sts for front of neck. On remaining 32 sts, work 2 rows even; decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even on remaining sts until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 9 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 79 sts from end to end of neckband. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles cast on 45 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 5 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 55 sts at even intervals across row.
Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1—K 9, work in pattern over the next 37 sts, K 9.
Row 2—P 9, work in pattern over the next 37 sts, P 9. Continue as given above, keeping the 37 center sts worked in pattern and remaining sts in stockinette st for the entire sleeve; increasing 1 st at each end every 12th row to 77 sts. Work even until piece measures 18 in. from lower edge. Bind off 9 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for under­arm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 9 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 19 sts remain. Bind off remaining sts.

Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
