Materials: These edgings and insertions are given to many and varied uses. If a knitted edge is desired on the spread, rather than fringe, the same thread is used—Star Crochet Cord, Gem or De Luxe Knitting and Crochet Cotton—and the same size crochet hook is also necessary.

These edgings and insertions would be lovely for decorating linens, if made of No. 50 or 60 "Silkine" Crochet Cotton. These threads require very fine steel knitting needles.

This use is appropriate in a Colonial room.

Two needles.
Cast on 8 sts.
1st row: K plain. 2nd row: Sl 1, n, o, k 3 together, o, n. 3rd row: P on this and other alternate rows. 4th row: Sl 1, (o, k 1) 3 times, o, n. 6th row: Sl 1, n, o, k 1, o, k 2, o, k 1, o, n. 8th row: Sl 1, n, o, k 1, o, k 1, n, k 1, o, k 1, o, n. 10th row: Sl 1, n, o, k 1, o, k 1, k 3 together, k 1, o, k 1, o, n. 12th row: Sl 1, n, o, k 2, k 3 together, k 2, o, n. 14th row: Sl 1, n, o, k 1, k 3 together, k 1, o, n. 15th row: P. Begin with the 2nd row and repeat.
