Striped on White Sweater Pattern

Materials Required—AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" WORSTED FLOSS, ARTICLE W16
2—1 oz. Balls White.
2—1 oz. Balls Green.
1—1 oz. Ball Red.
1 Pair Bone Knitting Needles No. 3.

Measurements:
Width—12 inches.
Length—17½ inches.
Shoulder seam—3½ inches.

Gauge. 7 sts = 1 inch. 10 Rows = 1 inch.

Back. With White, cast on 84 sts and k 5 rows, then work in stockinette st (k 1 row, p 1 row) until work measures 16½ inches from beginning, always knitting the first and the last 3 sts at the beginning and end of each row for border of entire dickey.
Next 2 Rows. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each row.
Next 6 Rows. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each row and bind off remaining 34 sts for back of neck, break yarn.
Front. With White, work same as back for the first 5 rows.
* 6th to 19th Rows. Work in stockinette st ending with p row, break yarn.
20th Row. Attach Green and k across row, break yarn. Attach White and p 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row, drop White. Attach Green and k 1 row, p 1 row, break yarn. *
Next 14 Rows. Pick up White and work in stockinette st, break yarn.
40th Row. Attach Red and k 1 row, break yarn. Attach White and p 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row, drop White. Attach Green and k 1 row, p 1 row, break yarn. * Pick up White and repeat between 1st and 3rd * twice. Pick up White and repeat between 1st and 2nd *, break yarn.
Next Row. Pick up White and k 1 row.
Next Row. K 3, p 26, bind off next 26 sts, p 26, k 3. Tie another strand of White, continue in stockinette st working both sides at one time decreasing 1 st at neck edges every other row 4 times (25 sts) until there are 14 rows, break White.
Next Row. With Red, k 1 row, break yarn.
Next 3 Rows. Attach White, p 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row, drop White.
Next 2 Rows. With Green, k 1 row, p 1 row, break yarn. Pick up White and k 1 row.
Next 2 Rows. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each row.
Next 6 Rows. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each row, break yarn.
Back Neck Band. With right side toward you, pick up 34 sts and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for 1 inch. Bind off loosely.
Front Neck Band. With right side toward you pick up 84 sts and work same as back neck band.
Sew shoulder seams. Finish with ties.
