Materials Required—AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED, ARTICLE W11
2—1¼ oz. Skeins White.
1—1¼ oz. Skein Blue.
14 yds. Cardinal.
4 Double Pointed Bone Knitting Needles No. 6.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 4 or 5.
1 Pair Leather Soles.

With White and on 3 needles cast on 48 sts (16-16-16) and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for 2 inches.
Next Round. K 1, p 1, k 1, p 1, k 1, p 1, k remainder of round.
Next Round. P 1, k 1, p 1, k 1, p 1, k 1, k remainder of round.
Repeat these 2 rounds until work measures 6 inches from beginning. The seed st stripe is center of slipper.
Next Round. Work the 6 center sts in seed st, then k next 8 sts, bind off next 26 sts for heel, k next 8 sts. Work in seed st across next 6 sts, k 8. Place all sts on one needle.
Next Row. P the 1st and last 8 sts working 6 center sts in seed st.
Next Row. K the 1st and last 8 sts working 6 center sts in seed st.
Repeat the last 2 rows until work measures 13 inches from beginning.
Next Row. Decrease 2 sts at beginning and 2 sts at end of row and work 1 row even, always keeping the center 6 sts in seed st.
Repeat the last 2 rows.
Next Row. Decrease 1 st at beginning and 1 st at end of row, bind off.
Without breaking yarn work a row of s c all around, working 1 s c in every other row on side and 1 s c in each st around heel and at toe, break White.
Attach Blue and work 1 s c in each s c, drop Blue. Attach Cardinal and work same as last row, break Cardinal.
Pick up Blue and work 1 s c in each s c, break yarn. Take a 26 inch length of Blue yarn, thread into needle and run through the 2 center rows of seed sts as illustrated. Run a length of Cardinal through next row on either side of Blue.
With Blue, embroider 2 rows of raindrops on either side of seed st pattern on front of slipper, same as on sweater. Start the raindrop sts in 2nd row from stripe and 10th st from ribbing and have about 13 rows between raindrops. Work the next row of raindrops in 3rd row from previous sts and starting the 1st raindrop in 3rd st from ribbing. Work around the leg part of slipper in same manner. Sew uppers to soles.
