NECKBAND

Using back-stitch, sew pieces tog. With right side facing and using set of No. 10 Needles and M., knit sts. from stitch holders as follows—* K.2, P.2, rep. from * to end. (172 sts.)

Next round—* K.2, P.2, rep. from * to end.

Rep. last round until neckband measures 2 ins.

Using set of No. 11 Needles, continue in rib until neckband measures 6 ins.

Using set of No. 10 Needles, continue in rib until neckband measures 8 ins. Cast off loosely in rib.

MAKE UP (NOTE—Do not press Baroness)

With a slightly damp cloth and warm iron, press lightly. Fold neckband in half onto wrong side and slip-stitch in position. Press seams.

FRINGE

Wind yarn round a piece of cardboard 5 ins. wide and cut along one edge. With wrong side facing, using 5 M/M (No. 6) Hook and 1 strand each M., C.1, C.2, C.3, fold yarn in half and draw loop through a st. at lower edge, pull ends through loop and tighten.

Rep. around lower edge in every 3rd st.
