TURTLE NECK SWEATERBack—With Fawn, and No. 1 needles cast on 94 sts., K. 1 st., P. 1 st., (ribbing) for 4½ inches. Change to No. 4½ needles and work in Stockinette st. for 1¼ inches.

Change to Tangerine and work 4 inches, change to Fawn, work 7 inches to underarm, then K. 2 sts. together at each side every K. row 26 times for Raglan armhole. Slip the remaining 42 sts. on a stitch holder.

FRONT—Work same as back.

SLEEVES—With Fawn and No. 1 needles cast on 50 sts., K. 1 st., P. 1 st., (ribbing for 4½ inches.) Change to No. 4½ needles and work in Stockinette st. for 3 inches, then increase 1 st. each side every inch 9 times. Work even until sleeve measures 21 inches from start (or desired length), decrease 1 st. each side every other row 26 times, slip remaining 16 sts. on stitch holder.

TURTLE NECKFront—With No. 1 needles slip 8 sts. (half) of left sleeve, 42 sts. of front and 8 sts. of right sleeve from stitch holder, K. 1 st., P. 1 st., (ribbing) for 7 inches. Work back of neck the same, sew seams at each side. Sew sleeves in place, sew underarm seams.

No. 3712ACAP—With Fawn and No. 12 needles cast on 100 sts. on 3 needles, join, K. 1 st., P. 1 st., (ribbing) for 3¾ inches. Change to Tangerine and work 1 inch more. K. 1 inch even, then decrease as follows: * K. 7, K. 2 together, repeat from * around row. K. 6 rows even. * K. 6, K. 2 together, repeat from * around row. K. 5 rows even. * K. 5, K. 2 together, repeat from * around row. K. 4 rows even. * K. 4, K. 2 together, repeat from * around row. K. 3 rows even. * K. 4, K. 2 together, repeat from * around row. K. 3 rows even. * K. 3, K. 2 together, repeat from * around row. K. 2 rows even. * K. 2, K. 2 together, repeat from * around row. K. 1 row. K. 2 sts. together around row. Weave remaining sts. together.

No. 3712BGLOVES—With Tangerine cast on 44 sts., 16 sts. on each of 2 needles and 12 sts. on third needle. K. 1 st., P. 1 st., (ribbing) for 1 inch.

Change to Fawn and work 2 inches more, then K. plain for 5 rows.

On next row increase by knitting 2 sts. in last st. of row (beginning of thumb). K. 3 rows even. On 10th row K. to last 3 sts. of round, K. 2 sts. in first st., K. 1 st., K. 2 sts. in last st. Continue to increase 2 sts. in gusset, every 4th round, until there are 15 sts. more in gusset. Put these 15 sts. on a strand of yarn for thumb. Cast on 5 sts. over the thumb sts. and work even for 2 inches.

FIRST FINGER—Cast on 2 sts. on end of 3rd needle, slip remaining sts. together with first 2 of 3rd needle on a strand of yarn. Divide 16 remaining sts. on 3 needles. Work for 2½ inches.

Work 5th and 6th st. together twice. One round plain. K. every 3rd and 4th st. together.

Next round—K. 2 together to end; draw yarn through remaining sts. Draw tightly, fasten off.

SECOND FINGER—Take first 6 sts. from strand, cast on 2 sts., take last 6 sts. from strand and pick up 2 sts. on side of first finger, 16 sts. Work 2¾ inches. Decrease same as first finger.

THIRD FINGER—Like first finger, picking up 2 sts. on side of 2nd finger, 6 on palm, cast on 2, and take up 6 last sts. from strand.

FOURTH FINGER—Use remaining sts. and pick up 4 sts. on side of 3rd finger. Work 1½ inches. One round, work 4th and 5th st. together. One round even. Work 3rd and 4th st. together. Then one round, work 2 sts. together. Finish like first finger.

THUMB—Place the 15 sts. on needles and pick up 5 sts. on cast on sts. Work even, knitting 2 sts. together twice on picked up sts. for 2 rounds. On remaining 16 sts. work even 1¾ inches. Finish same as first finger.
