REQUIREMENTS:
YARN: 1 ounce of Knitting Worsted or Germantown.
NEEDLES: 1-pr. #4 Single Point.

Starting at the cuff with the #4 needles cast on 29 sts and work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 5 rows.

BEADING ROW: * k 2 sts together, yarn over, repeat from * across the row. Work in ribbing for 5 more rows.
Now work in the following Pattern: 1st row and every row – * k 1, p 1, repeat from * across the row. Repeat row 1 until the mitten measures 2½ inches above the ribbing.
1st dec: K 1, * k 2 tog, k 3, repeat from * across the row. Purl across the next row.
2nd dec.: K 1, * k 2 tog, k 2, repeat from * across the row. Purl across the next row.
3rd dec: K 1, * k 2 tog, k 1, repeat from * across the row. Purl 2 sts together across the next row. Break the yarn leaving 10 inches. Thread a darning needle and draw through all the sts and fasten tight on the wrong side. Sew up the side of the mitten.

MAKE THE OTHER MITTEN THE SAME WAY

Trim with the ribbon through the beading row and tie a bow.
