No crocheting and no knitting in this afghan—all you have to do is weave yarn through rayon lace curtain material and knot the ends of yarn into tassels. It's the simplest thing in the world to do—and it certainly looks wonderful!
Afghan measures 48 x 72 inches (excluding fringe).
CHADWICK'S RED HEART KNITTING WORSTED, 4 Ply, Art. E.232: 21 skeins (1 oz. "Tangle-Proof" Pull-Out Skeins) of No. 515 Dk. Turquoise.
48 x 72 inches of Rayonet Scrim.

PROCEDURE …
- Turn under one wide space along each short side and baste in place (weaving is worked through both thicknesses).
- Place fabric taut on curtain stretcher, or place over a flat surface, weighting ends.
WEAVING …
- Leave 3 wide spaces from selvedge free on each long side for hems.
- Cut yarn into 95-inch lengths. Thread needle and, starting on 4th wide space, weave lengthwise twice through each wide space and once through each narrow space, following diagrams 1 and 2 below and leaving 12 inches of yarn free at both ends for Fringe.
HEMS …
- Weave in pattern through the 2nd narrow space in from selvedge. Cut off selvedge and upright bars of last wide space.
- Turn last narrow space under at woven line and, working in pattern, weave through both thicknesses.
FRINGE …
Working ½ inch down from top, knot every 10 strands together for fringe. If desired, knot 5 strands of each fringe together 1 inch below previous knots. Trim ends.
