Instructions are for Size 12. Changes for Sizes 14, 16 and 18 are in parentheses.

MATERIALS: NOMOTTA Mothproof Zephyr Fingering Yarn, 5 (5-6-7) one ounce balls.

KNITTING NEEDLES: One pair of straight Size 3 (standard).
One steel crochet hook Size 5 (standard).

ACCESSORY: One button.

GAUGE: 7 sts—1 inch; 10 rows—1 inch

PATTERN STITCH:
Row 1: K10, * yo, K2 tog., K9, repeat from * across the row.
Row 2: P10, * yo, P2 tog., P9, repeat from * across the row.
Repeat these 2 rows for pattern stitch.

ACCURACY OF STITCH GAUGE IS ESSENTIAL FOR PERFECT FIT.

Starting at the lower back with Size 3 needles, cast on 109 (120-131-142) sts. Work in pattern stitch. Work 4 (4½-5-5½) ins even.

SLEEVES: Cast on 8 sts at the beg of the next 22 rows. Work even on 285 (296-307-318) sts for 6 (6¼-6½-6¾) ins ending with row 2.

Next row: Work across 125 (130-135-140) sts and slip these sts on a holder to be worked later for right front. Bind off 35 (36-37-38) sts for back of neck. Place a marker at arm edge.

LEFT FRONT: On remaining 125 (130-135-140) sts work 1 in even.

SHAPE NECK: At center edge, cast on 2 sts every other row 4 times, then 9 sts once. Work even on 142 (147-153-157) sts until sleeve measures 6 (6¼-6½-6¾) ins from marker. At armside, bind off 8 sts every other row 11 times. Work even on 54 (59-64-69) sts for 1 (1½-2-2½) ins.

SHAPE LOWER FRONT: At center edge, bind off 2 sts every other row 15 times. Bind off 24 (29-34-39) sts.

RIGHT FRONT: Slip sts from holder onto needle, join yarn at the center edge, reversing the shaping, work to correspond with the left front.

COLLAR: Cast on 20 sts.
Row 1: K4, yo, K2 tog, K9, yo, K2 tog, K3.
Row 2: P4, yo, P2 tog, P9, yo, P2 tog, P3.
Repeat these 2 rows for 14 (14-14½-15) ins. Bind off.

FINISHING: Seam sleeves and underarms. Work 4 rows of sc around sleeves, fronts and lower edges, forming a buttonhole on the third row at the right neck edge. Work 4 rows of sc around the outer edges of collar and sew to neck edge. Block. Sew on button.
