9 ozs. Baby Blue.
1 oz. Pink or colors of your choice.
1 pr. 14 inch knitting needles No. 3.

With Blue cast on 216 stitches (sts), work 7 rows of stockinette st of Knit (K) 1 row, Purl (P) 1 row, ending with a K row.

1st Row of Pattern. P 6, * K 3 together (tog), in next st K 1, P 1, K 1 (3 sts are worked in 1 st), repeat from * twice, ** P 6, * K 3 tog, in next st K 1, P 1, K 1, repeat from * twice, repeat from ** twice (72 sts in pattern), P next 72 sts, * K 3 tog, in next st K 1, P 1, K 1, repeat from * twice, ** P 6, * K 3 tog, in next st K 1, P 1, K 1, repeat from * twice, repeat from last ** twice, P 6.

2nd Row. K 6, P 12, * K 6, P 12, repeat from * twice, K 72, P 12, * K 6, P 12, repeat from * twice, K 6.

3rd Row. P 6, in next st K 1, P 1, K 1, * K 3 tog, in next st K 1, P 1, K 1, repeat from * once, K 3 tog, ** P 6, in next st * K 1, P 1, K 1, K 3 tog, repeat from * twice, repeat from ** twice, P 72, in next st * K 1, P 1, K 1, K 3 tog, repeat from * twice, ** P 6, in next st * K 1, P 1, K 1, K 3 tog, repeat from * twice, repeat from last ** twice, P 6.

4th Row. Repeat 2nd row of pattern.

5th Row. Same as 1st row.

6th Row. Same as 2nd row.

7th Row. Same as 3rd row.

8th Row. Same as 2nd row.

9th Row. Same as 1st row.

10th Row. Same as 2nd row.

11th Row. Same as 3rd row.

12th Row. Same as 2nd row.

Work 6 rows in stockinette st ending with a K row.

Repeat these 18 rows until 5 squares of pattern have been completed, ending with 6 rows of stockinette st.

Next Row. P 72, work next 72 sts in pattern, P 72. Work in pattern same as 1st 18 rows but always working 1st and last 72 sts in stockinette st and center 72 sts in pattern. Continue in pattern until 5 squares are completed in center. Repeat 1st 18 rows of pattern until 5 pattern squares are completed on 1st and last 72 sts having center 72 sts in stockinette st. Work next 6 rows in stockinette st, bind off.

With Blue work a row of s c all around, join, cut yarn.

FRINGE: Wind Blue over a 3 inch cardboard. Cut one end. Using 2 strands, double in half and knot through every other s c all around.

With Pink embroider flowers as illustrated, using a Lazy Daisy stitch for petals and a French Knot for centers.
