Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" BABY YARN or "DAWN" NYLON or NYLON POMPADOUR
4 ozs. Baby Green or color of your choice.
5 stitch holders.
Steel crochet hook No. 2.
1 pr. knitting needles No. 4.
GAUGE: 7 sts = 1 inch. Seed st pattern: 10 rows = ¾ inch.

SACQUE

Starting at neck edge cast on 64 stitches (sts).

1st Row. Knit (K) across row.

2nd Row. Purl (P) across row.

3rd Row. K across row.

4th Row. P across row.

5th and 6th Rows. K across each row.

7th Row. * K 1, P 1, repeat from * 3 times (seed st pattern), K to within last 8 sts, * P 1, K 1, repeat from * 3 times.

8th Row. * K 1, P 1, repeat from * 3 times, P to within last 8 sts, * P 1, K 1, repeat from * 3 times.

Work first and last 8 sts in seed st pattern down entire fronts for border.

Next 2 Rows. Repeat 7th and 8th rows.

11th Row. Same as 7th. row.

Next 3 Rows. K across each row.

15th Row. Working first and last 8 sts in seed st K across row increasing in first and every 5th st between borders (74 sts).

16th, 17th and 18th Rows. Same as 7th row.

19th Row. Same as 15th row (86 sts).

20th Row. Same as 7th row.

21st Row. Work same as 15th row but increase in first and every 3rd st between borders (110 sts).

Repeat 8th, 7th and 8th rows once.

25th Row. K across row increasing in every 5th st between borders (128 sts).

Next 5 Rows. Work in stockinette st (P 1 row, K 1 row) keeping the border in seed st.

31st Row. Work first and last 8 sts in seed st, * yarn over (y o), K 2 together (tog), repeat from * across row.

32nd and 33rd Rows. Repeat 8th and 7th rows, working all y o as 1 st.

34th Row. * With right hand needle pick up the next st of 5th row below and place on left hand needle, P the picked up st and next st on needle together, repeat from * across row.

35th and 36th Rows. Repeat 7th and 8th rows.

37th Row. K across row increasing in 1st and every 10th st between borders (140 sts).

38th Row. K across row.

39th Row. Same as 15th row (165 sts).

40th, 41st and 42nd Rows. K across each row.

43rd Row. K across row increasing in every 10th st between borders (179 sts).

44th Row. K across row.

45th Row. K across row increasing in every 8th st between borders (199 sts).

46th Row. P across row.

47th Row. K across row.

48th Row. P across row.

49th Row. K across row increasing in 1st and every 12th st between borders (215 sts).

50th Row. P across row.

Continue to work first and last 8 sts in seed st down entire front.

51st Row. * Y o, slip (sl) 1, K 2, slip the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row, ending with K 1.

52nd Row. P across row.

53rd Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, slip the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 2.

54th Row. P across row.

55th Row. K 1, * y o, slip 1, K 2, slip the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row.

56th Row. P across row.

57th Row. Work 38 sts in seed st pattern, increase in next st, work 36 sts in seed st, increase in next st, work 63 sts in seed st, increase in next st, work 36 sts in seed st, increase in next st, work 38 sts in seed St.

58th Row. Work in seed st pattern increasing 1 st at each of the 4 increasing points.

Repeat the last row 8 times (255 sts), do not cut yarn.

67th Row. Place 42 sts on holder (front), place 48 sts on needle for sleeve, place 75 sts on second holder for back, 48 sts on third holder for second sleeve and 42 sts on fourth holder for other front.

SLEEVES: With right side of work toward you attach another ball of yarn, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row.

2nd Row. P across row.

3rd Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.

4th Row. P across row.

5th Row. K 1, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row, ending with K 2.

6th Row. P across row.

Next 10 Rows. Work in seed st pattern.

Repeat last 16 rows twice.

Next 14 Rows. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, working all K sts in back of st, bind off.

Slip 48 sts from third holder, attach yarn and work other sleeve in same manner.

Slip sts from remaining holders on needle, work first and last 8 sts in seed st pattern down entire front.

1st Row. K 1, * y o, sl 1 st, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.

2nd Row. P across row.

3rd Row. * Y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 2.

4th Row. P across row.

5th Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row.

6th Row. P across row.

Next 10 Rows. Work in seed st pattern.

17th Row. K 1, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.

18th Row. P across row.

19th Row. * Y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row, ending with K 2.

20th Row. P across row.

21st Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row.

22nd Row. P across row.

Next 10 Rows. Work in seed st pattern.

Repeat from 17th row once, bind off.

Turn 1st 6 rows at neck to inside of Sacque and sew in position.

Sew sleeve seams. Lace ribbon through neckband.

CAP

Cast on 26 sts and work 2 rows in seed st pattern.

3rd Row. K 1, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.

4th Row. P across row.

5th Row. K 3, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 2.

6th Row. P across row.

7th Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row.

8th Row. P across row.

Next 10 Rows. Work in seed st pattern.

Repeat last 16 rows once, casting on 25 sts at end of last row.

1st Row. K 1, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row. With a separate piece of yarn cast on 25 sts at end of row and continue pattern across row.

2nd Row. P across row.

3rd Row. * Y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.

4th Row. P across row.

5th Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 2.

6th Row. P across row.

Next 10 Rows. Work in seed st pattern.

Repeat last 16 rows twice, bind off. Sew side seams.

Pick up and K 46 sts across lower edge of cap and work in seed st pattern for 7 rows, bind off. Finish with ribbon ties as illustrated.

MITTENS

Cast on 41 sts and work 5 rows in seed st pattern (K 1, P 1).

6th Row. K 1, * y o, slip 1, K 2, slip the sl st over 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.

7th Row. P across row.

8th Row. K 3, * y o, sl 1, K 2, slip the sl st over 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 2.

9th Row. P across row.

10th Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, slip the sl st over 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row.

11th Row. P across.

12th and 13th Rows. Work in seed st pattern.

14th Row. K 1, * y o, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row.

Work in seed st pattern until mitten measures 4 inches from beginning.

Next Row. K 1, * P 2 tog, repeat from * across row.

Next Row. K 1, P 1, across row.

Next Row. K 1, * K 2 tog, repeat from * across row. Cut yarn leaving an end long enough to draw through remaining sts, fasten securely. Sew seam.

Lace ribbon through beading.

BOOTIES

Cast on 40 sts. Work 5 rows in seed st pattern.

6th Row. K 1, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row.

7th Row. P across row.

8th Row. K 3, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.

9th Row. P across row.

10th Row. K 2, * y o, sl 1, K 2, sl the sl st over the 2 knitted sts, repeat from * across row ending with K 2.

11th Row. P across row.

Next 5 Rows. Work in seed st pattern.

17th Row. P across row.

18th Row. K 2, * y o, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row.

19th Row. P across row.

20th Row. K 15 sts and place on a holder, K 10 sts for instep, place remaining 15 sts on another holder. Work 1 ¾ inches in garter st (K each row) on 10 sts for instep ending on wrong side, cut yarn, leaving a length to fasten.

Slip 15 sts from right holder, attach yarn and pick up and K 13 sts on side of instep, K across instep sts, pick up and K 13 sts on opposite side of instep, sl sts from holder on needle and K across.

Next 7 Rows. K across each row.

Next Row. K 29, K 2 tog, K 4, K 2 tog, K 29.

Next 3 Rows. K across each row, bind off. Sew back seam.

SOLE: Cast on 22 sts, K across row.

2nd Row. K across row increasing 1 st at beginning and end of row.

3rd Row. K across row. Repeat last 2 rows twice (28 sts). K 4 more rows even.

Next Row. Decrease 1 st at beginning and end of row. K 1 row even. Repeat the last 2 rows twice, bind off.

Without cutting yarn, work a row of s c all around sole working 20 s c on each long side and 12 s c around each end (64 s c), join, cut yarn.

With wrong side of sole and right side of upper section toward you, crochet the upper section and sole together with a row of s c, join, cut yarn.

Lace ribbon through beading. Work other bootie in same manner.
