Materials:
Chadwick's Red Heart Saxony, 2 balls (⅔ oz. balls).
Milward's Phantom Knitting Pins, 1 pair No. 1 (2½ mm. size).  
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 7.
1 yd. ribbon.

Gauge: 10 sts make 1 inch; 12 rows make 1 inch.

Starting at top of waistband, cast on 80 sts and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2, for 1¼ inches. On next row k across, increasing 10 sts at equal distances apart (90 sts). Hereafter work in stockinette st (p 1 row, k 1 row) until piece measures 5½ inches, ending with a k row. Next row: K 2, p across, ending row with k 2. Following row: K across. Next row: K 4, p across, ending row with k 4. Following row: K across. Hereafter, continue in this manner, changing 2 more sts at both ends of each p row into k sts, until piece measures 6 inches. Then, continuing to change 2 more sts at both ends of each row into k sts, dec. 1 st at both ends of each row (thus shaping for leg) until 20 sts remain. Bind off. Make another piece same as this.

Sew up side seams. Sew up crotch seam. Work 2 rows of s c closely together around each leg. Run ribbon through the center of waistband and tie at center front.
