Speed Knit Pullover Pattern

Sizes 1—2 and 3 Yrs.

MATERIALS:
1 Pr. Size 6 Standard Knitting Needles
1 Pr. Size 10 Standard Knitting Needles
1½ 4-oz. Skeins 4-ply Knitting Worsted

GAUGE: 4 sts to 1 in.

BACK: With size 10 needles cast on 42 sts, (2 yr. 46 sts—3 yr. 50 sts). Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows then work in pattern as follows:
Row 1 (right side)—Knit.
Rows 2 and 3—P 1, K 1, across row.
Row 4—Purl.
Rows 5 and 6—K 1, P 1, across row.
Repeat above 6 rows until piece measures 5½ in., (2 yr. 6 in.—3 yr. 7 in.) or desired length to underarm. Bind off 4 sts at beg. of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Work in pattern until piece measures 1½ in., (2 yr. 1¾ in.—3 yr. 2 in.) from bound off sts at underarm, ending on wrong side. K 4 rows (2 ribs showing on right side); work 6 rows of pattern; K 3 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work as given for back.
Sew front and back tog. for about 1¼ in. across shoulders.

SLEEVES: On right side of garment, with size 10 needles, pick up 30 sts, (2 yr. 34 sts—3 yr. 38 sts). Work in pattern as given for back, starting with row 2, decreasing 1 st at each end every 6th row 2 times. Work even until sleeve measures 6 in., (2 yr. 7 in.—3 yr. 8 in.) or desired length to cuff, ending on right side. Change to size 6 needles and P 1 row decreasing to 26 sts, (2 yr. 28 sts—3 yr. 30 sts). Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.
Sew sleeve and underarm seams.
