MATERIALS REQUIRED—American Thread Company "Dawn" Pompadour Yarn, White Baby Blue or Baby Pink.

Cardigan. 3 Balls, White and 1 Ball Blue or Pink.
Cap. 1 Ball White and 1 Ball Blue or Pink.
Bone Knitting Needles No. 3—1 Bone Crochet Hook No. 2 or 3.

Gauge—15 sts = 2 inches. 22 rows = 2 inches.

With Baby Blue cast on 78 sts and K 8 rows. Change to White and * K 1 row, P 1 row, K 1 row, P 1 row, K 1 row, P 1 row. Pick up Baby Blue and K 2 rows. Pick up White and repeat pattern from * for entire back. Work even until back measures 7 inches from beginning.

Next 2 Rows—Bind off 4 sts at the beginning of each row then decrease 1 st each side of every other row twice. (66 sts). Work even until armhole measures 3½ inches.

Next 2 Rows—Bind off 21 sts at the beginning of each row and bind off remaining sts for back of neck.

FRONT. With Baby Blue, cast on 38 sts and work same as back for 7 inches.

Next Row—Bind off 4 sts at underarm then decrease 1 st at underarm every other row
twice. Work even until armhole measures 2¾ inches.

Next Row—Bind off 9 sts at neck edge then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row twice. When armhole measures 3½  inches bind off. Work other front to correspond reversing the armhole.

SLEEVES. With White cast on 36 sts and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1½  inches working 3 rows White, 2 rows Baby Blue, 4 rows White, 2 rows Baby Blue, 2 rows White. Work the remainder of sleeve in stockinette st.

Next Row—Increase 1 st each side then increase 1 st each side every inch 5 times. Work even until sleeve measures 7½  inches from beginning.

Next 2 Rows—Bind off 4 sts at the beginning of each row then decrease 1 st each side of each K row until 20 sts remain. Bind off loosely. Sew seams and sew sleeves in position.
With Baby Blue work 49 s c down left front and work 4 more rows. On right front work 2 rows of s c. In the 3rd row work buttonholes of ch 2 placing the buttonholes in the center of White stripes then work 2 more rows of s c.

COLLAR. With the wrong side of work toward you, with White, pick up 63 sts around neck and P 1 row, K 1 row, P 1 row.

Next Row—Increase 1 st in every 10th st and con­tinue even in stockinette st until collar measures 1¼ inches.
Bind off and finish edge with 1 row of s c in Baby Blue. Sew buttons in position.

BONNET. With White cast on 34 sts and work in stockinette st for 3½ inches.

Next 2 Rows—Cast on 30 sts at end of row and work 5 patterns same as cardigan. With White, K 1 row, P 1 row.

Next Row—K 34 sts, on next 25 sts, K 1 K 2 together then K remaining sts. P 1 row, K 1 row, P 1 row. Attach Baby Blue and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for ¾ inch, bind off. Sew Seams: Gather the center portion of back of cap to measure 2½ inches.

With Baby Blue, pick up 80 sts around entire lower edge of cap, 32 on each side and 16 in the center and work a ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1 inch. Bind off and finish with rosettes as illustrated. These garments may also be made in "Dawn" Shetland Floss or "Dawn" Saxony Yarn.
