Jack Frost Sport Yarn
Natural—5 2-oz. Balls; Green—1 2oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 2 Needles and natural cast on 100 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 3½ in. Change to No. 4 Needles in­creasing to 115 sts. Work even in stockinette st until piece meas­ures 10 in. from lower edge, then work in pattern as given on chart A until piece measures 12½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm, then continuing pattern, decrease 1 st at each end every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm, working in stockinette st in natural only after the pattern has been completed. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 2 Needles decreasing to 36 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 7 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work as given for back until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Work over 33 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 29 sts for front of neck. On remaining 33 sts, work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 7 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of gar­ment, pick up 72 sts from end to end of neckband. Work in rib­bing of K 2, P 2, for 7 rows. Bind off.

SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles and natural, cast on 46 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 3½ in. Change to No. 4 Needles in­creasing to 60 sts. Work even in stockinette st for 2 in., then increase 1 st at each end on the next and every 10th row to 80 sts. Work even until piece measures 15 in. from lower edge. Work in pattern as given on chart B until piece measures 18 in. from lower edge. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 5 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Work 3 rows even, then bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 15 sts remain. Bind off re­maining sts.

Sew shoulder and underarm seams. Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
