Blue-3 2oz-Balls; Corn-2 2oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 2 Needles and Blue cast on 101 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, in striped pattern as follows: 5 rows Blue, 5 rows Corn, 5 rows Blue, 3 rows Corn, 3 rows Blue, 3 rows Corn, 5 rows Blue, 8 rows Corn, change to No. 4 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 114 sts. Work in striped pattern as fol­lows: * 14 rows Blue, 5 rows Corn, 2 rows Blue, 3 rows Corn, 2 rows Blue, 8 rows Corn; repeat from * once. Work even in Blue until piece measures 12 in. from lower edge. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 7 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 2 Needles in­creasing to 37 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work as given for back, increasing to 120 sts after the ribbing instead of 114 sts as on back, until piece measures 4½ in. from underarm. Work over 33 sts. Place on st-holder. Bind off next 26 sts for front of neck. On remaining 33 sts, work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 7 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of gar­ment, pick up 77 sts from end to end of neckband. Work in rib­bing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles and Blue cast on 51 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 62 sts. Work in stockinette st increasing 1 st at each end every 10th row to 80 sts. Work even until piece measures 18 in. from lower edge. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 7 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 18 sts remain. Bind off remaining sts.

Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
