Then, to shape neck, on next k row, k across 1st 24 sts, bind off 32 sts (for back of neck), k across remaining 24 sts. Work over these last 24 sts as before, for ½ inch, keeping both edges straight. Attach yarn to opposite side of neck edge, and work other shoulder to correspond, ending with a p row. Do not break off, but cast on 32 sts (for front of neck), p across next 24 sts. Work in stockinette st for 5½ more inches. Then cast on 9 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows (98 sts). Work remainder of Front to correspond with Back. Bind off.

Work in stockinette st for 1 inch. Then dec. 1 st at both ends of next row and every 3rd row thereafter until sleeve measures 2½ inches. Then change to No. 1 needles, decreasing to 60 sts, making decreases at equal distances apart. Work in ribbing of k 2, p 2, for 1½ inches. Bind off.
