The entire blouse is worked in Stockinette St. on No. 2 Steel Needles, with Chartreuse.
Back—Cast on 120 sts. and work even for 1 inch, then decrease 1 st. each side. Decrease 1 st. each side every 1½ inches 3 times. Work 1 inch even (work measures 6½ inches) then increase 1 st. each side every ½ inch 12 times. When work measures 14 inches from start, bind off 8 sts. at the beginning of each of the next 2 rows, then decrease 1 st. each side every other row 10 times (100 sts. remaining). When work measures 7 inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, bind off 8 sts. at the beginning of each of the next 8 rows. Bind off remaining sts. for back of neck.
Front—Cast on 128 sts. Work 1 inch even, then decrease 1 st. each side. Decrease 1 st. each side every 1½ inches 3 times. Work 1 inch even (6½ inches from start), then increase 1 st. each side every ½ inch 8 times.
When work measures 10 inches from start, work over half the sts. on needle (68 sts.) and place other half on a st. holder. Cast on 16 sts. at inside edge for facing, and increase 1 st. at underarm side every ½ inch 4 more times.
When work measures 14 inches from start, bind off 8 sts. at underarm side, then decrease 1 st. at underarm side every other row 14 times.
When work measures 5½ inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, working from armhole side, work over 44 sts., bind off 12 sts., work across row. Working on these last 10 sts., bind off 2 sts. at inside edge of this piece every other row 5 times. All sts. have been worked off.
Attach yarn to other sts. on needle and bind off 2 sts. at inside edge every other row 5 times, then decrease 1 st. at same edge every 4th row 2 times. At the same time, when there are 34 sts. on needle, bind off 8 sts. at armhole side every other row 4 times. All sts. have been worked off.
Pick up sts. from st. holder, cast on 16 sts. at inside edge for facing and work to correspond to other front.
Long Sleeves—Cast on 80 sts. and increase 1 st. each side every 1½ inches 8 times. When work measures 17 inches from start, bind off 8 sts. each side once. Decrease 1 st. each side every other row 28 times, then every row 4 times, bind off remaining sts.
Short Sleeves—Cast on 96 sts. Work even for 3 inches, then decrease for cap of sleeve in the same manner as for the long sleeve.
Collar—Cast on 108 sts. and work even for 1½ inches. K. 1 row on purled side for turn of hem, then work 1½ inches more, bind off.
Pocket—Cast on 20 sts. and increase 1 st. each side every row 8 times. When work measures 4 inches from start, bind off.
Sew shoulder seams, sew sleeves in place, sew underarm and sleeve seams, turn back facings, sew pocket in place. Fold collar and sew in place.
Belt—With Chartreuse work a chain 42 inches long. Work back and forth in S. C. until belt measures 1¼ inches. Fasten yarn.
Scarf—With Black cast on 45 sts. and working in plain knitting, work even for 42 inches, bind off.
