Size 1 and 2 Years
Materials—Fleisher’s Wonderized Babyfair, 2 (3) balls Main Color, 1 ball Contrasting color; or Fleisher’s Wonderized De Luxe Sock and Sport Yarn, 2 (3) skeins Main Color, 1 skein Contrasting Color.
White Knitting Needles, 1 pair Size 2.
White Crochet Hook, Size 1.
Instructions are written for size 1 year, changes for size 2 years are in parentheses.
Gauge: 8 sts = 1 inch
11 rows = 1 inch
Measurements—Chest 20 (21) ins. Length from lower edge to shoulder 10 ½ (11 ½) ins. Sleeves—Width 7 (7 ½) ins.

Back—With main color (A), cast on 80 (84) sts. Work k 2, p 2 ribbing for 1 ½ ins. Work stockinette st, k 1 row, p 1 row, for 5 ¼ (6) ins. or desired length to ribbing.

Armholes—Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows for underarm; 74 (78) sts. Work even until 1 ¾ (2) ins. above underarm, end with p row.

Yoke—Join contrasting color (b).

First row—K 2 with B, * k 2 with A, k 2 with B; repeat from * to end.

Note—Carry color not in use loosely along on wrong side of work.

2nd row—P 2 with B, pass A under B, * p 2 with A, p 2 with B; repeat from * to end.

3rd row—Pass A under B, k 2 with A, * k 2 with B, k 2 with A; repeat from * to end.

4th row—P 2 with A, pass B under A, * p 2 with B, p 2 with A; repeat from * t end. Repeat these 4 rows of pattern for 1 ½ ins., end with 4th pattern row.

Next row—Work 20 (22) sts, slip on holder for right shoulder, bind off next 34 sts with A; join another strand of B, work pattern on remaining 20 (22) sts fro 4 rows. Bind off with A. Take up sts of right side, join A, work 3 rows. Bind off with A.

Front—Work same as back.

Sleeves—With A, cast on 36 (40) sts. Work k 2, p 2 ribbing for 1 ½ ins.

Inc. row—right side—K 2 (4), * inc. 1 st in next st, k 5; repeat from *, end last repeat k 3 (5); 42 (46) sts. Work stockinette st, increasing 1 st each side every 8th (10th) row 7 times; 56 (60) sts. Work even until 6 (7) ins. above ribbing or desired length. Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows for underarm. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 14 rows. Bind off 22 (26) sts.

Finishing—Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Sew shoulder seams for 8 sts from armhole edge. Working from right side, keeping work flat, work 1 row sc on edge of neck and shoulder openings, making 2 buttonloops on each front shoulder edge. Steam.
