White Knitting Needles, 1 pair each Sizes 1 and 3.
White Crochet Hook, Size 0.
Gauge: 7 sts = 1 inch; 10 rows = 1 inch
Measurements-Width of back at underarm 10 ½ in 11 ¾ in 13 in
Width of each front at underarm, including crochet border 6 ¼ in 6 ¾ in 7 ¼ in
Length from lower edge to shoulder 12 ½ in 14 in 15 ½ in
Sleeves—Width at underarm 8 ½ in 9 ¼ in 10 in
Back—With size 3 needles, cast on 74 sts 82 sts 90 sts
Pattern—First row (wrong side)—K 2, * p 2, k 2; repeat from * to end.

2nd row—P 2, * k 2, p 2; repeat from * to end.

3rd row—Purl.

4th row—Knit. Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.
Work until measurement from lower edge is 7 ½ in 9 in 10 in
Armholes—Bind off at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm 3 sts 4 sts 5 sts
Dec. 1 st each side every 2nd row 3 times 4 times 5 times
Work even on 62 sts 66 sts 70 sts
until measurement above underarm is (end with 2nd pattern row) 4 ½ in 4 ¾ in 5 in
Shoulders—Bind off at beginning of next 2 rows 6 sts 6 sts 8 sts
Bind off 6 sts at beginning of next 4 rows; binding off in all for each shoulder 18 sts 18 sts 20 sts
Break yarn, slip on holder for neck ribbing the remaining 26 sts 30 sts 30 sts
Right Front—With size 3 needles, cast on 38 sts 42 sts 46 sts
Work pattern until same length as back to underarm, end on right side. Shape armhole as on back. Work even on 32 sts 34 sts 36 sts
until measurement above underarm is about (end with 3rd pattern row at front edge) 3 ¼ in 3 ½ in 3 ½ in
Neck and Shoulder Shaping—Next row—Work and slip on holder for neck ribbing 8 sts 10 sts 10 sts
work to end. Dec. 1 st at neck edge every row 3 times, every 2nd row 3 times, shaping shoulder as on left side of back when armhole is same length as on back.

Left Front—Work same as right front up to armhole, end on wrong side. Shape armhole and work to correspond to right front to neck, end at front edge with 4th pattern row. Break yarn.
Neck and Shoulder Shaping—Next row—Slip to holder for neck ribbing the first 8 sts 10 sts 10 sts
Sleeves—With size 1 needles, cast on 38 sts 42 sts 46 sts
Repeat first 2 rows of pattern for 1 ¾ ins. for cuff ribbing, end with 2nd row. Change to size 3 needles. P 1 row, k 1 row and continue pattern as on back,
increasing 1 st each side every ½ in ½ in ¾ in
increasing in all at each side 11 times 11 times 12 times
Work even on 60 sts 64 sts 70 sts
until measurement above cuff is 6 ½ in 8 ¾ in 10 ¼ in
Shape same as armholes of back. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 14 rows. Bind off remaining 20 sts 20 sts 22 sts
Finishing—Sew shoulder seams.
Neck Ribbing—With size 1 needles, take up and work p 2, k 2 ribbing on sts of right front neck; pick up and k on right neck edge 12 sts 12 sts 16 sts
take up and work ribbing on back neck sts; work left side of neck to correspond. Work ribbing for ¾ in. on 66 sts 74 sts 82 sts
Bind off in ribbing. Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Sew in sleeves with seam at center underarm.
Crocheted Border—Join yarn on left front at corner of neck ribbing. Work on front edge 77 sc 85 sts 96 sts
2nd row—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st. Repeat 2nd row 5 times. Fasten off. Join yarn on right front at lower corner. Work 3 rows sc to correspond to left edge.
4th row—Work 2 sc, * ch 3 for buttonhole, skip 3 sts, work 10 sc 11 sc 13 sc
repeat from * 5 times, end last repeat 7 sc 10 sc 11 sc
Work 3 more rows sc. Fasten off. Steam. Sew on buttons.
