Size 6 Months to 1 Year Measurements and Gauge same as No. 3166, on page 8. Note: Work all pieces with one color. Back—Work same as back of No. 3166, until armhole shaping is completed, end with p row, decreasing 1 st in center of last row (67 sts). Yoke—First row (right side)--* P 2, slip 1 st as to k, k 2, pass slipped st over the 2 k sts; repeat from *, end p 2. 2nd row--* K 2, p 1, wrap yarn around needle, p 1; repeat from *, end k 2 (67 sts). 3rd row--* P 2, k 3; repeat from *, end p 2. 4th row--* K 2, p 3; repeat from *, end k 2. Repeat these 4 rows having 27 stripes (14 p and 13 k stripes) until 3 ½ ins. above underarm, end with 4th pattern row. Shoulders—Keeping pattern, bind off 3 stripes at beginning of next 4 rows; 2 stripes at beginning of next 2 rows (8 stripes for each shoulder). Bind off 27 sts. Front—Work same as back until 2 ½ ins. above underarm, end with 2nd pattern row. Next row, work 23 sts and slip them to holder for left front; work next 21 sts, slip them to separate holder for neck; work remaining 23 sts for right front. Continue on these sts decreasing 1 st at neck edge every 2nd row 3 times. Work even until 3 ½ ins. above underarm. Shape shoulder as for left shoulder of back. Take up sts of left front and work to correspond. Sleeves—With size 1 needles, cast on 36 sts. Work k 1, p 1 ribbing for 2 ins. Next row—Continue ribbing increasing 1 st in every 3rd st 10 times, finish row (48 sts). Change to size 2 needles and stockinette st increasing 1 st each side every 1 in. 5 times (56 sts). Work even until 6 ins. above ribbing, or desired length to underarm. Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 4 rows; 2 sts at beginning of next 12 rows. Bind off 20 sts. Work Crochet Edges on shoulders as for No. 3166. Neck Bands—With size 1 needles, working from right side, pick up and k 4 sts on ends of sc rows of right shoulder; 26 sts across back of neck; 4 sts on ends of sc rows of left shoulder (34 sts). Work k 1, p 1 ribbing for 4 rows. Bind off in ribbing. Beginning at left shoulder of front, pick up and k 4 sts on ends of sc rows; 13 sts to front of neck; k across 21 sts of front; pick up and k 14 sts on right neck edge; 4 sts on sc rows (56 sts). Work as for back neck band. Finishing—Work as for finishing of No. 3166, omitting embroidery.
