These directions are for Size 10. Changes for Sizes 12, 14 and 16 are in parentheses.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Columbia-Minerva Calibar (2 oz skein) - 12(14-16-18) skeins

OR

Columbia-Minerva Nylon and Wool Calibrette (2 oz skein) - 11(13-14-16) skeins

Knitting Needles: 1 "Boye" circular needle Size 10 ½ - 24 inch, 1 pair each "Boye" Sizes 6 and 10 ½ - 14 inch and 1 "Boye" cable needle
Gauge: 3 ½ sts to 1 inch; 5 rows to 1 inch (Size 10 ½ needles)
1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "F" (Size 3 or 4)

BACK: With Size 6 needles cast on 55(59-63-67) sts. Work in ribbing as follows: Row 1: K 1, *P 1, K 1, repeat from * across row. Row 2: P 1, *K 1, P 1, repeat from * across row. Repeat these 2 rows for 2 inches, ending with Row 2. Change to Size 10 ½ needles and work in pat as follows: Row 1: (Wrong side of work) P. Row 2: P 1, *K 1, P 1, repeat from * across row. Repeat these 2 rows for pat. When work measures 14 inches, or desired length from start to underarm, ending with Row 2 of pat, work to within the last 2 sts. Sl all sts of Back including the last 2 sts onto st holder.

FRONT: Work same as Back until work measures same from start to underarm, ending with Row 2 of pat, sl all sts onto st holder.

SLEEVES: With Size 6 needles cast on 33(35-37-39) sts. Work in ribbing same as on Back for 2 inches, ending with Row 2. Change to Size 10 ½ needles and work in pat, inc'ing 1 st each side every 8th row 6 times - 45(47-49-51) sts on needle. When work measures 17”(17”-17 ½”-17 ½”), or desired length from start to underarm, ending with Row 2 of pat, sl all sts onto st holder.

Work 2nd Sleeve the same.

Sl sts from st holders onto circular needle as follows: With right side facing, start with last 2 sts of Back, then sl sts of 1 Sleeve, sts of Front, sts of 2nd Sleeve, then rem sts of Back - 200(212-224-236) sts on needle. Place a marker on needle for start of row. Join and work around as follows: Row 1: K. Row 2: Sl 2 sts onto cable needle and hold in back of work, K next 2 sts, then the 2 sts from cable needle (cable twist), work in ribbing of P 1, K 1, for 41(43-45-47) sts, twist cable on next 4 sts, work in ribbing of P 1, K 1, for 51(55-59-63) sts, twist cable on next 4 sts, work in ribbing of P 1, K 1, for 41(43-45-47) sts, twist cable on next 4 sts, work in ribbing of P 1, K 1, for 51(55-59-63) sts. Row 3: K. Row 4: *K 4, then P 1, K 1, for 41(43-45-47) sts, K 4, then P 1, K 1, for 51(55-59-63) sts, repeat from * 1 time more. Rows 5 through 8: Repeat Rows 3 and 4 two times. Repeat these 8 rows for pat, dec'ing 1 st each side of each cable by working the 2nd and 3rd sts tog every 4th row 1 time, then dec 8 sts in this manner every other row 16(17-18-19) times - 64(68-72-76) sts on needle. Bind off loosely.

COLLAR: With Size 10 ½ needles cast on 18 sts. Row 1: Work in ribbing of P 1, K 1, for 7 sts, twist cable on next 4 sts, work in ribbing of P 1, K 1, for 7 sts. Row 2: P. Row 3: P 1, K 1, for 7 sts, K 4, then P 1, K 1, for 7 sts. Rows 4 through 7: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 two times. Row 8: P. Repeat these 8 rows for pat. When work measures long enough to fit around neck opening, ending with Row 1 of pat, bind off.

Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Sew short ends of Collar tog. Sew Collar to neck edge, having seam at center back. Work 1 row of sc around outside edge of Collar.
