Knitting Needles: One pair "Boye" Size 5 and one crochet hook Size 0

Gauge: 6 sts to 1 inch; 8 rows to 1 inch

Note: Directions are for a 50¾(51-51¼-51½) inch dress measured from back of neck to hemline allowing 1 inch for stretch — to lengthen or shorten make adjustment before first dec row.

Back: Cast on 128(134-140-146) sts. K 1 row and P 1 row for 5 rows. K next P row for turn, cast on 11 sts at end. Next row K the 139(145-151-157) sts, cast on 11 sts.
Work on the 150(156-162-168) sts:
Row 1 - Wrong side: P.

Row 2: K 5, with yarn at back Sl 1 as to P for turning st, K to last 6 sts, sl 1, K 5. Repeat last 2 rows to 7 inches above turn, end on wrong side. Bind off 5 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Work in St St on the 140(146-152-158) sts to 10 inches above turn. Dec 1 st each side on next row, every 2 inches 5 times more, then every inch 7 times - 114(120-126-132) sts. Width across hipline is 19(20-21-22) inches. Dec 1 st each side every 3 inches 3 times. Work on the 108(114-120-126) sts to 42 inches or 1 inch less than desired  length above turn to underarm. Width across back is 18(19-20-21) inches.

Armholes: Bind off 4(5-6-7) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each side every other row 8(9-10-11) times. Work on the 84(86-88-90) sts until armhole measures 6¾(7-7¼-7½) inches straight above underarm. Width across shoulders is 14(14¼-14¾-15) inches.

Shoulders: Bind off 5 sts at beg of next 6(4-4-2) rows then 6 sts at beg of next 2(4-4-6) rows. Bind off rem'ing 42(42-44-44) sts for neck.

Front: Work same as back to 2 inches less than back to underarm.

Neck: Work 54(57-60-63) sts and sl them to a holder, work to end. Dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 14 times then every 4th row 7(7-8-8) times more  And At The Same Time when front measures same as back to underarm, bind off 4(5-6-7) sts at side edge. Dec 1 st at same edge every other row 8(9-10-11) times. Work on the 21(22-22-23) sts until armhole matches back armhole.

Shoulder: Bind off 5 sts at armhole edge 3(2-2-1) times, then 6 sts at same edge 1(2-2-3) times. Work other side to correspond.

Sleeves: Cast on 46(48-50-52) sts. Work in St St, inc'ing 1 st each side every inch 12 times. Work on the 70(72-74-76) sts to 15½ inches or desired length to underarm. Width across sleeve is 11¾(12-12½-12¾) inches.

Sleeve Cap: Bind off 5 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each side every other row until 32 sts rem. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 6  rows. Bind off rem'ing 20 sts. Seam shoulders. Sew sleeves in place. Sew sleeve seams. Turn up hem. Turn side slit facings on turning sts and sew on wrong side. Starting above side slits, seam sides.

Cuffs: Make 2.
With Size 0 hook and Camelot - ch 50(50-54-54).

Row 1: 1 dc in 6th ch from hook for first mesh, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in next ch, repeat from * across - 23(23-25-25) mesh, ch 4, turn.

Row 2: Counting turning ch as 1 dc, work 1 dc in 2nd dc, * ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from * across, ch 1, 1 dc in turning ch, ch 4, turn. Repeat Row 2 for pat working 5 more rows, ch 1, turn.

Row 8: 1 sc in space, * ch 4, 1 dc in first of ch-4 just made, skip 1 space, 1 sc in next space, repeat from * across. Fasten off. Work Row 8 on other long edge of cuff.

Neckband: With Camelot - ch 184(184-188-188).

Row 1: Same as Row 1 of cuff - 90(90-92-92) mesh, ch 4, turn.

Row 2: 1 dc in first dc for an inc, * ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from * across, end ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1 and 1 dc in turning ch for an inc, ch 4, turn. Repeat Row 2 four times more, ch 4, turn.

Row 8: Same as Row 2 - inc'ing 1 at each side and 2 at center back. Fasten off.

Seam cuffs and sew in place. Seam neckband forming "V" at center front and sew in place. Sew a one-inch silver braid over center of neckband and cuffs.
