Knitting Patterns
V-Neck Coat SweaterBack:
Cast on 168 sts and work even in stockinette st for 17 inches. One inch from start, p 1 row on right side of work for turn of hem. To shape armhole, dec 1 st each side every other row 20 times. When armhole measures 8 ½ inches straight up from first dec at underarm, bind off 14 sts at the beginning of each of the next 2 rows, then bind off 13 sts at the beginning of each of the next 4 rows. V-Neck Slip-OverBack:
Cast on 126 sts and work even in k 1, p 1 ribbing for 4 inches. Change to stockinette st and work even for 12 inches. To shape armholes, dec 1 st each side every other row 15 times. When work measures 8 ½ inches straight up from the first dec at underarm, bind off 15 sts at the beginning of each of the next 4 rows. Bind off remaining 36 sts. (More)
Sleeveless Slip-OverBack:
Cast on 120 sts and work even in k 1, p 1 ribbing for 4 inches. Change to stockinette st and work even for 11 inches. Bind off 6 sts at the beginning of each of the next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row 15 times. When work measures 9 inches straight up from bound off sts at underarm, bind off 8 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows, then bind off 7 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Then work the remaining 48 sts in the k 1, p 1 ribbing for 1 ½ inches. Bind off. (More)
Round Neck Slip-OverBack:
Cast on 140 sts and work even in k 1, p 1 ribbing for 4 inches. Change to stockinette st and work even for 12 inches. To shape armhole, dec 1 st each side every other row 14 times. When work measures 8 inches straight up from the first dec at underarm, bind off 12 sts at the beginning of each of the next 4 rows. Then work the remaining 64 sts in k 1, p 1 ribbing for 1 ½ inches. Raglan Slip-OverWith size 5 needle, cast on 70 sts and work back and forth on the circular needle as follows:
Row 1—K 2, inc 1 st in next st (left front), k 1 (seam st), inc in next st, k 7, inc in next st (left sleeve), k 1, (seam st), inc in next st, k 40, inc in next st (back), k 1 (seam st), inc in next st, k 7, inc in next st (right sleeve), k 1 (seam st), inc in next st, k 2 (right front). (More)
Woman's CardiganBack:
Using size 4 needles cast on 98 (110) sts and work even in stockinette st for 4 (3) inches. 1 inch from start, p 1 row on right side of work for turn of hem. Dec. 1 st each side, then dec 1 st each side every 1 ½ (2) inches 2 times more. Work even for 2 inches. Inc 1 st each side, then inc 1 st each side every ½ inch 6 (9) times more (126 sts), then inc 1 st each side every inch 2 times more (110 sts). Work even for 2 (2 ½) inches. Bind off 6 (7) sts at the beginning of each of the next 2 rows. Back and Front:
Using size 4 circular needle, cast on 168 (192) sts. Join and work around needle in k 2, p 2 ribbing for 2 inches. Change to plain knitting and work even for 10 (11) inches. Next row place 12 sts (underarm) on a st pin, work across 72 (84) sts (back), and place on st pin, place next 12 sts (underarm) on a st pin, and on remaining sts work front as follows: Work even in stockinette st for 3½ (4 ½ ) inches, then bind off center 14 (20) sts. Child's SocksSocks:
With sock needles, cast on 64 sts, 22 sts on first needle, and 21 sts on each of other 2 needles. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Work in k 1, p 1 ribbing for 3 inches for cuff. Then work in k 3, p 1 ribbing for 7 inches. Start shaping back of leg as follows; * K 2 sts tog, k 1, p 1, k 1, k 2 sts tog, and finish row. Work 4 rows even in ribbing and repeat from * 5 times more (52 sts remaining). Work in ribbing until leg is 13 ½ inches from start of ribbing or desired length and start heel: Place 14 sts each side of center back on one needle for heel (28 sts), then place 12 sts on each of the other two needles. HelmetFront:
Cast on 60 sts, k plain for 53 rows. On next row dec by knitting every fourth and fifth sts tog across row (48 sts). Then work in k 2, p 2 ribbing for 6 inches.
On next row, work face opening as follows: Work 10 sts, slip these sts on a st pin, bind off next 28 sts loosely, and on remaining 10 sts, work 12 rows, break yarn. Join yarn and work the 10 sts from st pin for 11 more rows. Cast on 28 sts over those bound off, join to 10 sts at other side and on 48 sts work even for 4 inches. (More)

Wristlet MittensCast on 52 sts, 18 on each of 2 needles, 16 on third needle, join.
Work in k 2, p 2 ribbing for 6 inches, dec 1 st at end of last row. Slip 17 sts on each needle and start thumb at beginning of row. K 1, k 2 sts in next st, k to within the last 2 sts on the 3rd needle, k 2 sts in next st, k 1. K 1 row.
Next row, k 2, k 2 sts in next st, k to within the last 3 sts of 3rd needle, k 2 sts in next st, k 2. K 1 row. (More)

Children's MittensCast on 88 sts and work around 3 needles in k 2, p 2 ribbing for 3 inches. K 2 tog around row (44 sts). Work in plain knitting for 1 inch. Inc in every 4th st around row, 10 times (54 sts). Next row, start thumb as follows: Inc 1 st in first st of first needle, inc 1 st in next st, place a marker on needle and work around row. Rifleman's GloveRight Glove:
Cast on 64 sts (22 sts on first and 2nd needles, and 20 sts on the 3rd needle). Join and work even in k 1, p 1 ribbing for 6 inches. Change to stockinette st and work even for 2 inches. Now work to last 2 sts on 3rd needle, mark 2nd st from end, then inc in this st, inc in last st on needle. Inc in this marked st and in the last st on needle every 3rd row until there are 22 sts from marked st to end of needle. Place these 22 sts on a st pin, cast on 4 sts over these sts and work even for 2 inches (66 sts on round). (More)

Cast on 68 sts (24 sts on first needle, 22 on each of the second and third needles) and work even in k 1, p 1 ribbing for 35 rows. K 30 rows, purling the twelfth st on the first needle for seam st, then * k to within the third st of seam st, slip 1, k 1, pass the slip st over the k st, k 1, p 1, k 1, k 2 tog. K 9 rows.
