Materials Required:
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
"DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED, Article W 11

11-1¼ oz. Skeins Blue or any Color desired.
1 Pair each Bone Knitting Needles No. 3 and No. 4 and 4 double pointed Bone Knitting Needles No. 3 for Mittens.
9 Small Buttons.

Pattern requires a multiple of 6 sts plus 2.
1st Row. K 3, P 2, * K 4, P 2, repeat from * across row ending row with K 3.
2nd Row. Purl across row.
3rd Row. P 2, * K 4, P 2, repeat from * across row.
4th Row. Purl across row.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.

LEGGINGS No. 4311

LEFT SECTION: Starting at waist, on No. 3 Needles, cast on 68 sts and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1 inch.
Next Row. * K 1, yarn over, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row ending row with K 2, (beading) then work 1 more inch of ribbing.
Next Row. Start shaping back, K 2, P 2, K 2, turn, P 2, K 2, P 2, turn.
2nd Row. Work across 12 sts in same manner, turn and work back in ribbing to end of row.
3rd Row. Work across 18 sts in same manner, turn and work back in ribbing to end of row.
4th Row. Work across 24 sts in same manner, turn and work back in ribbing to end of row.
5th Row. Work across all sts in ribbing.
Change to No. 4 needles.
Next Row. Start pattern and work 6½ inches even in pattern.
Next Row. Decrease 1 st each side keeping pattern straight, then decrease 1 st each side every 3rd row 12 more times keeping pattern straight. Work 8 rows even. Work 3 inches even in ribbing of K 2, P 2.
Next Row. K across 27 sts, turn, K 14 sts, turn and K 14 rows on the 14 sts for instep.
Pick up and K 10 sts on side of instep just made and 13 sts on needle, turn, K 37 sts, pick up and K 10 sts on other side of instep and 13 sts left on needle, then K 8 rows even, bind off.

RIGHT SECTION: Work ribbing and beading same as left section, then work the 5 rows of shaping for back same as left section.
6th Row. Work even in ribbing, ending on the right side.
Next Row. Start pattern and work same as left section, break yarn.
Sew front and back seams, then sew leg seams. Sew elastic for underfoot.
Crochet a ch about 1 yd. long. Lace through beading and finish with tassels.

SWEATER No. 4311

On No. 3 needles, cast on 50 sts and work in ribbing for 3 inches. Change to No. 4 needles and work in pattern same as leggings until work measures 9 inches from beginning, then increase 1 st each side every other row 4 times keeping pattern straight.
Next 2 Rows. Cast on 26 sts at beginning of each row for sleeves and work even in pattern for 2½ inches.
Next Row. Work 48 sts, place these on a stitch holder, bind off next 14 sts for back of neck and work on remaining 48 sts for left front.
Next 3 Rows. Decrease 1 st at neck edge each row, then work 8 rows even.
Next 3 Rows. Increase 1 st at neck edge each row. Cast on 7 sts for front of neck and work even in pattern until sleeve measures 6½ inches at wrist edge.
Bind off 26 sleeve sts and decrease 1 st every other row at underarm 4 times. Work even in pattern until front measures same as back to ribbing increasing 1 st in last row. Work ribbing same as back, bind off. Work other shoulder and front to correspond.

CUFFS: With No. 3 needles, pick up 30 sts at wrist edge and work in ribbing for 3 inches, bind off.

COLLAR: With No. 3 needles, pick up 72 sts around neck and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for about 3 inches, bind off.
Sew sleeve and side seams.
With wrong side of work toward you, crochet 60 s c up left front of sweater, turn and work 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn.
Next Row. 1 s c in next s c, * ch 2 for buttonhole, skip 2 s c, 1 s c in each of the next 6 s c, repeat from * up front ending with 1 s c in last s c, ch 1, turn.
Next Row. 1 s c in each s c and 1 s c in each st of ch, break yarn.
Work 4 rows of s c on right front in same manner omitting the buttonholes. Sew buttons in position.

CAP No. 4311

On No. 4 needles, cast on 4 sts and work in ribbing of K 1, P 1.
2nd Row. Increase 1 st at beginning and end of row, then increase 1 st each end every 6th row until there are 14 sts on needle. Work 6 rows even, break yarn leaving work on needle. Cast on 4 sts on same needle and work a 2nd tab to correspond (both tabs on one needle in last row) do not break yarn, cast on 11 sts and work in ribbing across cast on sts and one tab, cast on 22 sts and work across 2nd tab, cast on 11 sts and work in ribbing across all sts until front measures 1¼ inches.
Next Row. * K 4, P 2, repeat from * across row.
Next Row. P across row.
Next Row. K 1, * P 2, K 4, repeat from * across row ending row with K 3.
Next Row. P across row. Repeat the last 4 rows until pat­tern section measures 3 inches ending with the P row and decreasing 1 st in last row. The remainder of cap is worked in stockinette st (K 1 row, P 1 row).
Start shaping cap.  1st row. * K 5, K 2 together, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.
Next and every alternate row. P across row.
3rd Row. * K 4, K 2 together, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.
5th Row. * K 3, K 2 together, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.
7th Row. * K 2, K 2 together, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.
9th Row. * K 1, K 2 together, repeat from * across row ending with K 1.
11th Row. K 2 together across row, then P 1 row, break yarn leaving an end for sewing.
Thread into needle, slip remaining sts on yarn, draw together and fasten firmly. Press under a damp cloth. Sew back seam. Crochet a row of s c all around working a 4 ch loop at end of one tab for buttonhole. Sew button in position.

MITTENS No. 4311

On 3 needles, cast on 36 sts, (12-12-12) work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1½ inches. K 4 rounds even.
Next Round. K 3, increase in next st, K 1, increase in next st, K remainder of round, then K 1 round even.
Next Round. K 3, increase in next st, K 3, increase in next st, K remainder of round, then K 1 round even.
Next Round. K 3, increase in next st, K 5, increase in next st, K remainder of round, then K 1 round even.
Next Round. K 3, place next 8 sts on a safety pin or thread for thumb, cast on 2 sts over thumb, K 7 sts, complete round, then K even until mitten measures 3 ¾ inches from beginning.
Next Round. * K 4, K 2 tog, repeat from * all around. K 1 round even.
Next Round. * K 3, K 2 tog, repeat from * all around and K 1 round even.
Next Round. * K 2, K 2 tog, repeat from * all around and K 1 round even.
Next Round. K 2 tog all around and K 1 round even, break yarn leaving an end. Thread yarn into a needle and draw the 9 sts together, fasten firmly on wrong side.

THUMB: Pick up and K the 8 thumb sts, 1 st on each side of cast on sts and 2 cast on sts, (12 sts in all) arrange on 3 needles and K even for 1¼ inches.
Next Round. K 2 tog all around, K 1 round even, break yarn leaving an end and finish same as top of mitten. Work other mitten in same manner.
