Winter Doll Clothes Pattern

These directions are for 15 inch Baby Doll.

MATERIALS
BERNAT Nylo Germantown (2 oz. skeins) — 2 Main Color (M C)
BERNAT Star Spray (2 oz. skeins) — 1 Contrasting Color (C C)
1 pair straight knitting needles No. 6 OR ANY SIZE NEEDLES WHICH WILL GIVE THE STITCH GAUGE GIVEN BELOW
1 aluminum crochet hook Size E
3 small buttons
Elastic thread
Snap fasteners

GAUGE: 5 sts = 1 inch; 13 rows = 2 inches

DRESS

SKIRT: Using M C, cast on 112 sts. P 1 row. K 1 row. Con­tinue in stockinette st until piece measures 4 inches, ending with a P row. DEC ROW: * K 2 tog, P 2 tog, repeat from * across row. WAISTBAND: K 1, P 1 in ribbing on 56 sts for 6 rows. Bind off.

FINISHING: Sew back seam to within ½ inch of waistband. With right side facing you, join M C to top of back open­ing, ch 3 for buttonloop, s c around back opening. Fasten off. Weave elastic thread through waist ribbing. EDGING: Using C C, with right side facing you, work 1 s c in each st of lower edge. Fasten off. Block. Sew on button.

JACKET: BACK: Using M C, cast on 34 sts. Work even in stockinette st for 10 rows, ending with a P row. SHAPE SLEEVES: At the beg of each of the next 2 rows cast on 10 sts. Work even on 54 sts until there are 14 rows above last group of cast on sts. DIVIDE FOR BACK AND FRONT: K 21 sts and sl these sts onto a holder for right front, bind off center 12 sts, K to end of row. LEFT FRONT: P 1 row. At the beg of next row cast on 8 sts. Work in stockinette st on 29 sts until there are 15 rows above last group of cast on sts, ending at arm edge. At the beg of next row bind off 10 sts. Work even on 19 sts for 10 rows more. Bind off. RIGHT FRONT: Join M C at neck edge and work to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping.

FINISHING: Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Using C C, with right side facing you, work 1 row s c around all edges of jacket and sleeves. Fasten off. Block. Sew on snap fasten­ers. Trim with 2 buttons as shown in photograph.

BONNET

FRONT PIECE: Using M C, cast on 45 sts. Work even in stockinette st for 20 rows. SHAPE BACK: At the beg of each of the next 2 rows bind off 15 sts. Work even on center 15 sts until piece is same length as bound off edges. Bind off. Sew bound off edges to back piece. NECKBAND: Using M C, with right side facing you, pick up 27 sts on back edge. P 1, K 1 in ribbing for 3 rows. BEADING: * K 1, y o, K 2 tog, P 1, repeat from *, ending K 1, y o, K 2 tog. Continue in ribbing for 2 rows more. Bind off. CORD: Using a 3 yd length of M C, make a twisted cord. Draw cord through beading. Block.

BOOTIES

Using M C, cast on 20 sts. Work even in stockinette st for 16 rows. Bind off. Fold in half and sew side seams. Using C C, work 1 row s c around top. Using M C, make a twisted cord and weave through bootie ½ inch from top.

MITTENS

Using M C, cast on 14 sts. Work even in stockinette st for 10 rows, ending with a P row. On next row K 3, K 2 tog, K 4, K 2 tog, K 3 — 12 sts. Work 3 more rows in stockinette st. Bind off. Fold in half and sew sides. Using C C, work 1 row s c around top.

SUN SUIT

HALTER: Using M C, cast on 51 sts. K 1, P 1 in ribbing for 6 rows. At the beg of each of the next 2 rows bind off 18 sts. Continue in ribbing on 15 sts for 10 rows more. Bind off. TIES: Join C C in each top corner and make a 10 inch ch to be tied in back of neck.

SOAKERS: Using M C, cast on 24 sts, K 1, P 1 in ribbing for 50 rows. Bind off. Using C C, make 2 ch each 8 inches long. Pull through corners and tie.

MUFF

Work to correspond to soakers.
