BACK: With No. 4 Needles cast on 120 sts. Work in stockinette st for 10 rows. P 1 row on right side for turning ridge. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 5 in. from turning ridge. Change to No. 2 Needles and natural and work even for 12 rows. Change to Main color and work even for 12 rows. Change to Green and work even for 12 rows. Change to Main color and work even until piece measures 11 in. from turning ridge. Change to No. 4 Needles and work even until piece measures 15½ in. from turning ridge. Change to Green and work 12 rows even. Change to Main color and bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm, decrease 1 st at each end every other row 5 times. Change to Natural and continue to bind off 1 st at each end every other row 2 more times. Work even on the 92 remaining sts for 8 more rows. Change to Main color and work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 2 Needles and K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.
FRONT: Work as given for back until piece measures 4½ in. from underarm. Work over 36 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 20 sts for front of neck. On remaining 36 sts work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 8 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 7 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.
FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 81 sts from end to end of neckband. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.
Sew shoulder and underarm seams. Turn hem under at lower edge and sew to wrong side.
SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles cast on 57 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 60 sts. Work in stockinette st increasing 1 st at each end 2 in. from cuff and every 10th row thereafter to 86 sts. Work even until piece measures 18 in. from lower edge. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row to 16 sts. Bind off remaining sts.
Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
