Cast on 13 sts. 1st row: Slip 1 st, k 2 tog., O, k 2, O, slip 1 st, k 2 tog., p.s.s.o., O, k 2, O, k 2 tog., thread over twice (each of these 2 thread over's is used to make 1 st). Inc. in last st. 2nd row: Inc. in 1st st, k 2, p 13. 3rd row: Slip 1 st, k 2 tog., O, k 2, O, slip 1 st, k 2 tog., p.s.s.o., O, k 2, O, k 2 tog., k 3, k 2 tog. 4th row: K 2 tog., k 1, thread over twice, p 2 tog., p 11. 5th row: Slip 1 st, k 2 tog., O, then make a cable as follows: k into the back of the 2nd st on left-hand needle, skipping the 1st st; then k into the 1st st and allow both sts to slip off the left-hand needle, thus completing cable. O, slip 1 st, k 2 tog., p.s.s.o., O, make a cable as above, O, k 2 tog., k 1, p 1, k 2. 6th row: Bind off 3 sts, p 12. Repeat from 1st row for desired length.
