1 Pr. Standard No. 2 Needles—14 in.
1 Pr. Standard No. 4 Needles—14 in.
Jack Frost Sport Yarn or De Luxe Sport Zephyr
Harding Blue—3 2-oz. Balls, Maize—1 2-oz. Ball

BACK: With No. 4 Needles and Harding Blue cast on 100 sts. K 1 row, P 1 row, for 8 rows. P 1 row on right side for turning ridge. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 12 in. from turning ridge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 4 times, then work in stripe pattern as follows: * 2 rows Maize, 6 rows Harding Blue, 2 rows Maize, 10 rows Harding Blue, repeat from * twice, ending in Harding Blue to back of neck. When piece measures 6 ½ in. from underarm, bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows for shoulder. Change to No. 2 Needles, continuing with Harding Blue, K 1 row, P 1 row for 6 rows. P 1 row on right side for turning ridge. P 1 row, K 1 row for 6 rows. Bind off loosely.

FRONT: Work same as back until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Continuing stripe pattern, work over 30 sts. Place on st-holder. Bind off next 20 sts for front of neck. On remaining 30 sts, work 2 rows even. Decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 6 times. Work even in stripe pattern to correspond to back. When piece measures 6 ½ in. from underarm, starting at shoulder edge, bind off 8 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles and Harding Blue, on right side of garment, pick up 66 sts from shoulder to shoulder. P 1 row, K 1 row for 6 rows. K 1 row on wrong side. K 1 row, P 1 row for 6 rows. Bind off loosely.

Sew shoulder and underarm seams. Turn neckband under on turning ridge and sew to wrong side.

SLEEVES: With No. 4 Needles and Harding Blue cast on 74 sts. K 1 row, P 1 row for 8 rows. P 1 row on right side for turning ridge. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 1 in. from turning ridge, then work as follows: 2 rows Maize, 6 rows Harding Blue, 2 rows Maize. Change to Harding Blue and work even until piece measures 3 in. from turning ridge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 4 times, then every 4th row 5 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of each of next 10 rows. Bind off remaining sts. Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place. Turn hems under at lower edge of garment and sleeves, on turning ridge, and sew to wrong side.
