1 Size 9 Bone Crochet Hook
Jack Frost Willow Yarn—5 2-oz. Skeins

BACK: Cast on 30 sts. Work in stockinette st increasing 1 st at each end of the 13th row. * Work 9 rows even, increase 1 st at each end of the next row, repeat from * once. Work even on remaining 36 sts until piece measures 7 ½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 3 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Work even until piece measures 4 ½ in. from underarm. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows, then 3 sts at beginning of each of next 4 rows. Bind off remaining sts for back of neck.

RIGHT FRONT: Cast on 20 sts. Work as follows: Row 1—K 1, P 1, over first 8 sts, K 4, P 1, K 1, over remaining 8 sts. Row 2— P 1, K 1, over first 8 sts, P 4, K 1, P 1, over remaining 8 sts. Repeat above 2 rows working a cable twist over the rib of K 4, on the 5th and every 6th row to neck edge as follows: slip the first 2 sts onto the hooked end of crochet hook, hold in back of work, K the next 2 sts, then bring the 2 sts which were placed on the crochet hook, forward, and K them. When piece measures 3 in. (13th row) increase 1 st at underarm edge. Keeping front edge even, repeat increases at underarm edge every 10th row to 24 sts. Work even until piece measures 7 ½ in. from lower edge. Keeping front edge even, bind off 3 sts at underarm edge once; decrease 1 st at underarm edge every row 4 times. Work even until piece measures 3 in. from underarm. Keeping armhole edge even, bind off 3 sts at neck edge once, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every row 2 times. Work even until piece measures 4 ½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 4 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond. Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: Cast on 17 sts. Work in stockinette st increasing 1 st at each end of the 7th row and every 8th row thereafter to 27 sts. Work even until piece measures 11 in. from lower edge. Bind off 3 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every row 2 times. Work 8 rows even. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of each of next 4 rows. Bind off remaining sts. Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.

CROCHET BAND: Starting at lower edge of right front, work 24 s c to neck edge, 3 s c in corner st, 23 s c around neck edge, 3 s c in corner st, 24 s c down left front edge, ch 1, turn. Work 24 s c up left front edge st for st, 3 s c in corner st, 1 row s c around neck edge, 3 s c in corner st, * ch 2, skip 1 st, work 1 s c in each of next 4 sts, repeat from * 4 times ending with 1 s c in each of remaining sts. Fasten off.
