REQUIREMENTS:
YARN: 10-Ounces of Regular Sport Yarn.
NEEDLES: 1-pr. #1 single pointed. 1-pr. #3 single pointed.
STITCH HOLDER

GAUGE: 7 sts to an inch. 9 rows to an inch.

BACK: Using the #1 needles cast on 104 (108) sts and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2, for 3 (3½) inches. Now change to the #3 needles and continue in the same ribbing until the piece measures 12 (13) inches, or as long as you need up to the underarm. With the right side of the work facing you, bind off 5 (5) sts at the beginning of the row, knit remainder of the row. Bind off 5 (5) sts at the beginning of the next row, purl the remainder of the row. Decrease 1 st at each side of the work every other row 4 (5) times, at the same time working in the yoke pattern as follows: * Knit 2 rows, p 1 row, repeat from * for remainder of the yoke. After the decreases, work until the armhole measures 6 (6¼) inches from the bind off. SHOULDERS: Bind off 9 (9) sts at the beginning of the next 4 rows; bind off 8 (9) sts twice. On the remaining sts, change to the #1 needles and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for ¾ inches. Bind off loosely, knitting the knit sts, purling the purl sts.

FRONT: Work as the back until the armhole measures 4 (4) inches above the first underarm bind off. Work over 32 (33) sts, place the remaining sts onto a st holder; working on the sts that are on the needle and in the yoke pattern, decrease 1 stitch at the neck edge every other row 6 (6) times. Then when the armhole measures the same as the back, from the armhole edge bind off 9 (9) sts twice; 8 (9) sts once. Break yarn. Take 32 (33) sts from the armhole edge onto the needle, tie yarn in, and work to correspond to the other shoulder.

NECK BAND: With the right side of the work facing you, pick up and knit 68 sts around the front neck. Work in ribbing of k 2, p 2, for the same amount of rows as on the back. Bind off loosely.

LONG SLEEVES: Using the #1 needles cast on 48 (52) sts and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for 3 (3¼) inches. Now change to the #3 needles and still keeping the same ribbing for the remainder of the sleeve. Increase 1 stitch at each side of the work every ¾ (¾) inches until you have 64 (68) sts on the needle. Then work even until the sleeve measures 16½ (17½) inches, or as long as you need up to the underarm. Bind off 5 (5) sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. (Once at each side). Decrease 1 stitch at each side of the work every other row until 28 sts remain on the needle. Decrease 1 stitch at each side of the work every row until 22 (24) sts remain on the needle. Bind off. MAKE THE OTHER SLEEVE THE SAME WAY.
