MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Columbia Minerva Knitting Worsted (4 ounce skein)
Size 12 to 14—14 skeins
Size 16 to 18 —16 skeins

Columbia Lustra Minerva Sparkletone (2 ounce skein)
Size 12 to 14—32 skeins
Size 16 to 18 —36 skeins
Knitting Needles: 1 Pair "Boye" Size 10—14 inch
1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "F" (Size 3 or 4)
Gauge: 3½ Sts. to 1 inch; 5 Rows to 1 inch (double strand)
SIZES: 12 to 14 (16 to 18)
BACK: With double strand of yarn cast on 90 Sts. (98 Sts.). Work even in Ribbing of K.1, P.1, for 9 inches. Decrease 1 St. each side on next row, then every 4 inches 5 times more. Sts. on Needle: 78 Sts. (86 Sts.).
When work measures 32 inches from start (or desired length to underarm),
To Shape Sleeves: Increase 1 St. each side, then cast on 2 Sts. at beginning of next 2 rows, 3 Sts. at beginning of next 2 rows, then 12 Sts. at beginning of next 6 rows.
Sts. on Needle: 162 Sts. (170 Sts.)
Work even until sleeve edge measures 6½" (7"). (measured straight from last cast-on Sts.).
To Shape Sleeves and Shoulders: Bind off 7 Sts. (8 Sts.) at beginning of each of the next 8 rows, then 6 Sts. at beginning of next 14 rows. Bind off remaining Sts. for back of neck.
FRONTS: (Reversible—make 2 the same) With double strand of yarn cast on 44 Sts. (48 Sts.). Work in Ribbing of K.1, P.1, for 9 inches. Decrease 1 St. at side edge, then every 4 inches 5 times more.
When work measures same as Back to underarm, shape front edge and Sleeve at the same time as follows:
At Front Edge: Increase 1 St., then every inch 14 times more.
At Side Edge: Increase 1 St., cast on every other row 2 Sts. once, 3 Sts. once, then 12 Sts. 3 times, AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures same as at Back,
To Shape Sleeve and Shoulder: Bind off at sleeve edge 7 Sts. (8 Sts.) every other row 4 times, then 6 Sts. every other row 7 times. On remaining Sts. work even for 2 inches for Collar, bind off.
Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Sew shoulder and sleeve seams. Sew seam at back of Collar. Sew Collar to neck edge.
BORDER FOR FRONTS AND SLEEVES: With "F" Hook and double strand of yarn Ch.7.
Row 1—1 S.C. in 2nd Ch. from hook, 1 S.C. in each Ch. across (6 S.C.), Ch.1, turn.
Row 2—1 S.C. in back loop of each S.C., Ch.1, turn. Repeat Row 2 until Strip is long enough to fit both front edges and across back of neck. Work Borders for Sleeves the same. Sew Borders in place.
