Starting at top with Blue, cast on 108 sts. Divide these sts among 3 needles. Join, being careful not to twist sts. 1st to 8th rnds incl: * K 9, p 9. Repeat from * around. 9th rnd: * 0, k 2 tog, k 7, 0, p 2 tog, p 7. Repeat from * around. Now repeat 1st rnd until piece measures 4 inches in all. Next rnd: K around. Attach White. (More)

Starting at flap edge, make a chain about 15 inches long (5 ch sts to 1 inch). 1st row: Sc (loosely) in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across until row measures 12 inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Insert hook in 2nd ch and draw loop through, insert hook in next ch and draw loop through, (insert hook at base of next sc and draw loop through) twice; yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (star st made).
