MATERIALS: Chadwick's Red Heart Afghan Wool, 8 skeins (1 oz. skeins).
Milward's 16-inch circular knitting pin No. 6 (4¼ mm. size).
Milward's 29-inch circular knitting pin No. 6 (4¼ mm. size).
4 double-pointed bone needles No. 6 (4¼ mm. size).

MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING: Bust—35 inches. Length from underarm to lower edge—12½ inches. Length of sleeve, underarm seam—4 inches. Width of sleeve at underarm—13 inches.

GAUGE: 5 sts make 1 inch; 7 rnds make 1 inch.

Starting at neck edge, with 16-inch circular needle cast on 70 sts loosely. Join, being careful not to twist sts. 1st rnd: K 31 (Front); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts); k 5 (left sleeve); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts); k 21 (Back); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts); k 5 (right sleeve); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts). 2nd rnd: K around. 3rd rnd: K 32 (Front); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts); k 7 (left sleeve); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts); k 23 (Back); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts); k 7 (right sleeve); inc. in next 2 sts (seam sts); k 1. 4th rnd: K around. Continue increasing 8 sts on every other rnd, having 2 more sts between increases on each increase-rnd, until there are 302 sts on needle (change to 29-inch needle when necessary). Next rnd: K across Front to 1st seam st incl; slip next 65 sts onto a piece of yarn, for sleeve; k next 81 sts (Back); slip next 65 sts onto piece of yarn, for other sleeve (172 sts on needle). Work straight around these 172 sts for 4¼ inches, decreasing 16 sts evenly apart on last rnd. Now work 1¼ inches in ribbing of k 2, p 2. Then k each rnd for 5 more inches. On next rnd dec. evenly to 132 sts. Change to 16-inch needle and work 1¼ inches in ribbing. Bind off,

SLEEVES … Transfer sts of sleeve onto 3 double-pointed needles and k around for 2¾ inches. On next rnd dec. evenly to 52 sts. Work 1¼ inches in ribbing. Bind off.

NECK BAND … With right side toward you, pick up 72 sts around neck edge on 3 double-pointed needles and work ¾ inch in ribbing. Bind off loosely in ribbing.
