REQUIREMENTS:
YARN: 1-ounce of Rosebud Yarn or 1-ounce of 3-ply Baby Yarn.
NEEDLES: 1-pr. #2 Single Pointed.

Starting at the cuff, cast on 48 sts and work in the following pattern.
ROW 1: P 1, * k 1, yarn over, k 1, p 2, repeat from * across the row, end with p 1.
ROW 2: K 1, * p 3, k 2, repeat from * across row, ending with p 3, k 1.
ROW 3: P 1, * slip 1, k 2, pass the slip st over the 2 knit sts; p 2, repeat from * end with p 1.
ROW 4: K 1, * p 2, k 2, repeat from * across row, end with k 1. Repeat these 4 rows for 2 inches, ending with row 3.

DECREASE ROW: K 1, * p 2, k 2 sts together, repeat from * across row; end with p 2, k 1.

BEADING ROW: K 1, * yarn over, k 2 sts together, repeat from * across row, end with p 1. Now work in stockinette stitch (p 1 row, k 1 row) for 27 rows, or 2¼ inches.

DECREASE AT TIP OF MITTENS: 1st dec: * K 7 sts; k 2 sts tog., repeat from * across row, ending with k 1.

NEXT ROW and every other row – Purl across the row.
2nd dec: * K 6 sts; k 2 sts tog., repeat from * across row, end with k 1.
3rd dec: * K 5 sts; k 2 sts tog., repeat from * across row, end with k 1.
4th dec: * K 4 sts; k 2 sts tog., repeat from * across row, end with k 1.
5th dec: * K 3 sts; k 2 sts tog., repeat from * across row, end with k 1. Purl across the next row. Knit 2 sts tog., across the row. Break the yarn, leaving 12 inches. Draw thru the remaining sts and fasten off on the wrong side. Sew up the side of the mitten.

MAKE THE OTHER MITTEN THE SAME WAY.

Trim with ribbon as in illustration.
