REQUIREMENTS:
YARN: 1-ounce Rosebud Yarn or 1-ounce 3-ply Baby Yarn.
NEEDLES: 1-pr. #2 Single Point.

Starting at the cuff with the #2 needles cast on 48 sts and work in ribbing of knit 2 sts, purl 2 sts for 2 inches.

BEADING ROW: Knit 1 st, * yarn over, knit 2 sts together; repeat from * across the row. Purl across the next row. Now work in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 2¼ inches above the ribbing. Decreases at the tip of the mitten: 1st dec: * K 1, slip 1, k 1, psso, k 18, k 2 tog., k 1, repeat from * once more. NEXT ROW and every other row – Purl across the row.
2nd decrease: * K 1, slip 1, k 1, psso, k 16, k 2 tog., k 1, repeat from * once more.
3rd dec: * K 1, slip 1, k 1, psso, k 14, k 2 tog., k 1, repeat from * once more.
4th dec: * K 1, slip 1, k 1, psso, k 12, k 2 tog., k 1, repeat from * once more.
5th dec: * K 1, slip 1, k 1, psso, k 10, k 2 tog., k 1, repeat from * once more.
6th dec: * K 1, slip 1, k 1, psso, k 8, k 2 tog., k 1, repeat from * once more. Purl across the next row. Weave the sts together across the top or bind off and sew across the tip. Sew the mitten along the side.

MAKE THE OTHER MITTEN THE SAME WAY.

TRIMMING – Using the yarn double, crochet a chain 12 inches long. Draw thru the beading row. Make 2 pompons at the end. Tie in a bow.
