Materials Required–AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
"DAWN" SAXONY TYPE YARN OR "DAWN" BABY YARN
9 ¾-oz. Balls Pink.
1 ¾-oz. Ball White.
1 Pair No. 2 Bone Knitting Needles.
1 Pair No. 4 Bone Knitting Needles.
1 Bone Crochet Hook Size 2.
1½ Yds. Narrow Ribbon.
4 small pearl buttons.

On No. 2 needles cast on 60 sts and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1 inch. Change to No. 4 needles and K for 5 inches.
Next Row–K 29, bind off next 2 sts, place the first 29 sts on a stitch holder and continue front on remaining 29 sts as follows, K across row, * K 27, turn and K back on 27 sts, K 2 rows on 29 sts, repeat from * until front measures 3 inches at neck edge, bind off. Pick up 29 sts from stitch holder and work same as front until neck edge of back measures 6 inches ending at neck edge, break yarn and leave sts on needle. On the free needle cast on 29 sts and work second front same as 1st front ending at neck edge. Cast on 2 sts for neck and K across sts on other needle, continue work on 60 sts for 5 inches. Change to No. 2 needles and work in ribbing for 1 inch, bind off. Sew sleeve together matching rows.
With No. 4 needles pick up and knit 32 sts across one front, 66 sts across back, 32 sts across other front.
K 1 row.
Next Row–K 1, * Y O, K 2 together, repeat from * across row to last st, Y O, K 1. Purl one row.
Next Row–K across row increasing in every other st, K 1 row even.
Next Row–K across row increasing in every other st, then work even until skirt measures 6½ inches ending row on wrong side of work.
Attach White and K 2 rows even.
Next Row–K 1, * Y O, K 2 together, repeat from * across row, K 1.
Next Row–Purl across row.
Attach Pink and work in garter st (plain knitting) for 1¼ inches ending row on wrong side of work. Attach White, K 2 rows even.
Next Row–K 1, * Y O, K 2 together, repeat from * across row, K 1. P 1 row, K 1 row, P 1 row.
Next Row–K 1, * Y O, K 2 together, repeat from * across row, K 1. P 1 row.
Attach Pink and work in garter st for 2 inches ending row on wrong side of work. Attach White and K 2 rows even.
Next Row–K 1, * Y O, K 2 together, repeat from * across row, K 1. P 1 row, K 1 row, P 1 row. Repeat the last 4 rows.
Next Row–K 1, * Y O, K 2 together, repeat from * across row, K 1. P 1 row.
Attach Pink and work in garter st for 3 inches, bind off.
Starting at bottom of yoke on right hand side of front, crochet a row of s c to neck, ch 1, turn and work 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn, 1 s c in next s c, * ch 3, skip 2 s c, 1 s c in each of the next 4 s c (loop for button), repeat from * twice, ch 3, skip 2 s c, s c in next s c, then without breaking yarn work a row of s c around neck drawing it in to measure 10½ inches, work a row of s c down left side of yoke, ch 1, turn, continue working a row of s c down left front of coat, across bottom and up right front of coat.
SCALLOP FOR NECK. Join yarn at corner st, * skip 1 s c, 4 d c with ch 1 between in next s c, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c, repeat from * across neck. Finish with 4 pearl buttons.
Lace ribbon through beading below yoke.
