NOTE—Underline or circle the num­bers applying to the size desired. The first number in each group is for size 2, the second for size 3, the third for size 4.

MATERIALS—SPINNERIN PILGRIM 2 (2-2) skeins for 2105-B and 2 (2-3) skeins for 2105-G, 1 pair Knitting Needles No. 3, 1 pair Knitting Needles No. 1, 1 set double point needles No. 1, felt motifs for trim.

MEASUREMENTS—Waist 20 (2-22) inches; waist to crotch 8¾ (9-9½) inches.

GAUGE—7 sts. = 1 inch. 9 rows = 1 inch. Accurate gauge is essential.

PATTERN—Body—Stockinette St. (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) with ribbing of K1, P1 at waist and leg bands. Shoulder Straps—Garter St. (knit every row).

BACK OF PANTS—Using No. 1 nee­dles, cast on 74 (76-78) sts. Work in rib­bing of K1, P1 firmly for 1 inch. Change to No. 3 needles and work in stockinette st., inc. 1 st. each end of needle every inch 4 times, (82 (84-86) sts.). Work even until back measures 5½ (6-6½) inches from beg. Then at the beg. of each of the next 16 rows, bind off 3 sts. Bind off 2 sts. at the beg. of every row until 10 (12-14) sts. remain. Bind off.

FRONT OF PANTS—For 2105-B work same as back. For 2105-G. Using No. 3 needles, cast on 26 (28-30) sts. for Bib. Work in garter st. for 1 inch. Change to stockinette st. and work even for 3 (3½-4) inches more, ending with purl row. Change to No. 1 needles and knit across Bib sts. Cast on 24 sts. for 1 side of waistband. Turn, work across these 50 (52-54) sts. in ribbing of K1, P1. Cast on 24 sts. for other side of waistband (74 (76-78) sts.). From this point work in same manner as back.

STRAPS—Make 2. Using No. 1 nee­dles, cast on 10 sts. Work firmly in garter st. for 14 (15-16) inches, or desired length. Bind off.

FINISHING—Sew side and crotch seams. Using No. 1 double point needles, pick up 108 (112-112) sts. around each leg. Place a marker at crotch. Join and work in ribbing of K1, P1, dec. 1 st. each side of marker every round for 8 rounds. Bind off loosely, knitting the K sts. and purling the P sts. For 2105-B. Sew straps in place on front of pants about 4 inches apart. Cross straps in back, adjust to correct length and sew in place. For 2105-G. Sew straps to top of ribbing at each side of bib. Sew straps neatly to each side of bib. Cross in back, adjust to correct length and sew in place.
