3 (4-5) skeins 2 tone Orion Acrylic 4 ply (2 oz. skein)
or
4 (5-6) skeins Knitting Worsted or Orion Sayelle (2 oz. skein)
1 pair knitting needles each No. 6 and No. 8
1 crochet hook No. 6 or G
1 stitch holder
1 jacket zipper 14 (16-16) inch. long
GAUGE: 4 sts. = 1 inch
PATTERN:
1st to 4th row incl.: stock. st.
5th row: K18 (20-22) * y.o., K1 repeat from * 11 times more, K18 ( 20-22).
6th row: P18 (20-22) * (slip 1, drop the y.o.) 4 times, insert left hand needle into 1st and 2nd slipped st. on right hand needle and pull them over the 3rd and 4th st., then slip 3rd and 4th st. back to left hand needle and P across these 4 sts. repeat from * twice more, P18 (20-22).
7th row: work as 5th row.
8th row: work as 6th row.
Repeat these 8 rows for pattern.
BACK:
Cast on 46 (50-54) sts. with No. 6 needles and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 1 ½ inch. (all sizes). Incr. 1 st. (all sizes) at each end of last row of ribbing. Change to No. 8 needles and pattern. With 48 (52-56) sts. work even until the entire piece measures 8 (9-10) inch. or any des. length to underarm. Bind off at armhole edge at the beg. of the next 2 rows 3 (3-4) sts. and at the beg. of the next 2 rows 2 sts. (all sizes) (38 (42-44) sts. left). Work even for 5¼ (5¾-6¼) inch. from the first binding off. Bind off for shoulders at the beg. of the next 4 (4-4) rows 6 (7-7) sts. Rem. 14 (14-16) sts. slip to a holder.
LEFT FRONT:
Cast on 24 (26-28) sts. with No. 6 needles and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 1½ inch. (all sizes), keeping 3 center front sts. in garter st. for border throughout the entire front. Incr. 1 st. (all sizes) at end of last row of ribbing. Change to No. 8 needles and pattern:
1st to 4th row incl.: stock. st.
5th row: K14 (16-18) * y.o., K1 repeat from * 7 times more, K3 border sts.
6th row: K3 border sts., work pattern on next 8 sts. as on back, P14 (16-18).
7th row: work as 5th row.
8th row: work as 6th row.
Repeat these 8 rows for pattern.
With 25 (27-29) sts. work even until the entire piece measures like back to underarm. Bind off at armhole edge at the beg. of the next row 3 (3-4) sts. and at the beg. of the next row at same edge 2 sts. (all sizes). (20 (22-23 sts left) Work even for 3¾ (4-4¼) inch. from the first binding off. Bind off for neck 6 (6-7) sts. at center edge and then always 2 sts. at same edge until 12 (14-14) sts. are left over. Work as high as back and bind off for shoulder at armhole edge 6 (7-7) sts. twice (all sizes).
RIGHT FRONT:
Work as Left Front reversing all shapings.
SLEEVE:
Cast on 24 (26-28) sts. with No. 6 needles and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 1 ½ inch. (all sizes). Incr. 4 sts. (all sizes) at even intervals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 8 needles and pattern:
1st to 4th row incl.: stock. st.
5th row: K10 (11-12), work pattern on next 8 sts. as on back, K10 (11-12).
6th row: P10 (11-12), work pattern on next 8 sts. as on back, P10 (11-12).
7th row: work as 5th row.
8th row: work as 6th row.
Repeat these 8 rows for pattern
Incr. 1 st. at the beg. and end of every 6th row until 32 (36-40) sts. are on needle. Work even until the entire sleeve measures 9 (10-11) inch. or any des. length to underarm. Bind off at the beg. of the next 2 rows 3 (3-4) sts. Decr. 1 st. at the beg. of each row until cap measures 2¼ (2¾-3) inch. Decr. 1 st. at the beg. and end of every 4th row twice (all sizes). Bind off 2 sts. at the beg. of the next 4 rows. Bind off rem. sts. Work the other sleeve to correspond.
FINISHING:
Sew up side, shoulder and sleeve seams. Sew in sleeves. Hood: Right side facing you, pick up with No. 6 needles 40 (42-44) sts. around the neck and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 5 rows (always keep the 3 sts. on each end of the needle in garter st.). Incr. 8 (10-10) sts. at even intervals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 8 needles and stock. st. and keep 8 sts. on each end of needle inside the 3 border sts. in pattern as on front. Work even for 6 (6½-7½) inch. Weave sts. tog. With No. 6 crochet hook work 1 row s.c. along each front and around hood. Sew zipper in place and block to size.
