Fingering Fleece Pullover Pattern

SCALE: 7½ sts to 1 in.

Jack Frost Fingering Fleece6 1-o.z. Balls

BACK : With No. 2 Needles cast on 99 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 5 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 128 sts. Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1—K 3, * P 1, K 1, P 2, K 2, P 2, K 1, P 1, K 4; repeat from * across row ending last repeat K 3.
Row 2—P 3, * K 1, P 1, K 2, P 2, K 2, P 1, K 1, P 4; repeat from * across  row ending last repeat  P 3.  Repeat above 2 rows for pattern, working  across st over the ribs of  K 2, on the 5th and every 4th  row thereafter  as follows (right side): K the 2nd st on left hand Needle, then K the first, drop both sts from left hand Needle  to right hand  Needle tog. When piece measures 12 in. from lower edge, bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of  next  2  rows  for  underarm;  decrease  1 st at each end every other row 6 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 2 Needles increasing to 37 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.

FRONT:  Work same as given for back until piece measures 4½ in. from underarm. Work over 37 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 26 sts for front of neck. On remaining 37 sts, work 2 rows even; decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 8 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 75 sts from shoulder to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.

Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles cast on 86 sts. Work in pattern until piece measures 2½ in. from lower edge. Change to No. 5 Needles and continue pattern until piece measures 5 in. from lower edge. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 22 sts remain. Bind off remaining sts.

Sew sleeve seams.  Sew sleeves in place.
