Jack Frost Featherweight Floss 2 Fold—10 1-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 5 Needles cast on 118 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 2½ in., then work in pattern as follows:
Row 1 (right side)—Knit.
Row 2—Purl.
Row 3—* K 4, K 2nd st on left hand Needle from the back but leave it on the Needle, K the next st, then lift both sts from left hand Needle at once; repeat from * across row ending K 4.
Row 4—Purl.
Row 5—Knit.
Row 6—Purl.
Row 7—K 1, * K 2nd st on left hand Needle from the back but leave it on the Needle, K the next st, then lift both sts off at once, K 4; repeat from * across row ending K 1.
Row 8—Purl.
Repeat above 8 rows until piece measures 15½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Bind off remaining sts for back of neck.

RIGHT FRONT: With No. 5 Needles cast on 63 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 1½ in. then start buttonholes on the next row as follows: starting at front edge, K 1, P 1, K 1, bind off next 2 sts, work across row. Work back, casting on 2 sts over the bound off sts. Repeat buttonholes every 3 in. to neck edge working last buttonhole in 2nd row of neckband. When piece measures 2½ in. from lower edge, work as fol­lows: starting at front edge, K 1, P 1, over the first 9 sts for buttonhole band, P 2; work in pattern as given for back, across row. Keeping the first 9 sts worked in ribbing, the next 2 sts purled on the right side and knitted on the wrong side, and remaining sts worked in pattern, work even until piece measures 15½ in. from lower edge. Keeping front edge even, bind off 7 sts at underarm edge once; decrease 1 st at under­arm edge every other row 6 times. Work even until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Keeping underarm edge even, work over the first 9 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 8 sts, work across row. Decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 7 sts every other row 4 times.

LEFT FRONT: Work to correspond to right front, omitting buttonholes, and bind off for underarm on right side instead of wrong side.
Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles cast on 51 sts. Work in rib­bing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 5 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 58 sts. Work in pattern as given for back, increasing 1 st at each end every 10th row to 78 sts. Work even until piece measures 18 in. from lower edge. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm: decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 18 sts remain. Bind off remaining sts. Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.

NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 101 sts from end to end of neckband, including sts which were placed on st-holder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.
