MATERIALS;
An adorable extra for a baby. Quickly and easily knitted in your choice of Beehive Fingering 3 ply Patonised or Patwin 3 ply Patonised and striped and bordered with Fuzzy-Wuzzy. For satisfaction, be sure to knit this little garment with your choice of one or other of these specified 3 ply yarns. You will need:-1 oz. (B) of Beehive Fingering 3 ply Patonised or 1 oz. of Patwin 3 ply Patonised. 1 (½ oz.) ball of Fuzzy-Wuzzy (A). Two No. 12 and two No. 10 Queen Bee Knitting Needles. 2 Buttons.
MEASUREMENTS: To fit 19-inch Chest. Length from top of shoulder 8½ ins.
Tension: 8 sts. and 10 rows = 1 inch with No. 10 needles.

The Shoulderette is worked up the back and down the fronts without seams at shoulders.
With (B) and No. 12 needles, cast on 72 sts.
Before proceeding, please read "Important Information" on patternbook page.
Work 16 rows (K1. P1) ribbing. Change to No. 10 needles and proceed:—
Work 6 rows Stocking st. ending with purl row. Do not break (B). Join (A). Knit 2 rows Garter st. (plain knitting every row). Do not break (A) but carry the (A) and (B) from one stripe to next up side of work.
These 8 rows complete one pattern.
Work 8 more complete patterns (9 (A) stripes in all).
Work 3 rows Stocking st. ending with knit row.
Next row: K1. P24. Cast off 22 sts. for back of neck. P24. K1.
Working on last 25 sts. Knit 1 row. Purl 1 row, ending at armhole edge. With (A) knit 2 rows. Proceed:—
Work 4 rows Stocking st.
5th row: Knit to last 2 sts. Inc. 1.st. in next st. K1. Purl 1 row. With (A) knit 2 rows. Repeat these last 8 rows to 34 sts. on needle. Purl 1 row.
Change to No. 12 needles and work 16 rows (K1. P1) ribbing. Cast off loosely in ribbing.
With right side of work facing, join (B) to remaining 25 sts. and work other side to correspond being careful to have front shaping for opposite side.
To make Front Border: With right side of work facing, with (A) and No. 10 needles, beginning at right front corner pick up and knit 48 sts. along front edge, 22 sts. along back of neck and 48 sts. along other front edge. (118 sts. on needle). Knit 3 rows Garter st.
Next row: (buttonholes). K3. Wl.fwd. K2tog. K7. Wl.fwd.
K2tog. Knit to end of row.
Knit 3 rows Garter st. Cast off loosely.
To make Side Borders: With right side of work facing, with (A) and No. 10 needles, beginning at top of ribbing of back, pick up and knit 75 sts. along side edge ending at top of ribbing of front. Knit 1 row.
Next row: K2tog. Knit to last 2 sts. K2tog. Repeat last row 5 times. Cast off loosely. Work other side to correspond.
TO MAKE UP: Press lightly. Sew side seams from cast-on edge of garment to end of decreasings on side borders. Sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
